Abstract: A fueling system for an engine includes a fuel tank, a controller, a fuel nozzle receptacle connected to the fuel tank, the fuel nozzle receptacle including a receptacle sensor configured to send a signal to the contoller indicative of whether a fuel nozzle of a fuel dispenser is received in the fuel nozzle receptacle, and an electric fill slop valve between the fuel tank and the fuel nozzle receptacle, the electric fill stop valve being, configured to be controlled to open and close in response to a signal from the controller. The controller can be configured to receive at least one of (a) a signal whether a fuel nozzle of a fuel dispenser is received in a fuel nozzle receptacle connected to the fuel tank, and (b) a signal whether a fuel level of the fuel tank is full, and to control the electric fill stop valve to close when a signal is sent to the controller that at least one of (a) the fuel nozzle is not received in the fuel nozzle receptacle when the controller is configured to receive the signal whether the fuel nozzle of a fuel dispenser is received in the fuel nozzle receptacle, and (b) the fuel level of the fuel tank is full when the controller is configured to receive the signal whether the fuel level of the fuel tank is full.

Abstract: The invention relates to a method (100) for operating an internal combustion engine (2), such as an internal combustion engine of a vehicle (1), the engine (2) comprising an engine cylinder (3) at least partly defining a combustion chamber (4) and a reciprocating piston (5), a number of inlet valves (20) in fluid communication with the combustion chamber and a number of exhaust valves (30) in fluid communication with the combustion chamber, wherein any one of the inlet valves and the outlet valves comprises at least one flow control valve. The method comprises the following steps: opening (105) at least one of the inlet valves and introducing the incoming fluid medium into the cylinder (3) of the engine by performing an intake stroke (S1); compressing (110) the trapped incoming fluid medium in a first compression stroke (CS1) of the cylinder (3), while having the number of the inlet valves and the number of the exhaust valves in a closed state; injecting (115) a quantity of fuel into the cylinder (3) and combusting said injected fuel; performing (120) a first work stroke (WS1) to produce power to a crank shaft of the engine, while controlling said flow control valve to partly exhaust burnt gases at the end of the work stroke; additionally compressing (125) remaining fluid medium in an additional compression stroke (CS2) of the cylinder (3), while having the number of the inlet valves and the number of the exhaust valves in a closed state; additionally injecting (130) an additional quantity of fuel into the cylinder (3); additionally performing (135) an additional work stroke (WS2) to produce power to the crank shaft of the engine, while controlling said flow control valve to partly exhaust burnt gases at the end of the additional work stroke; and opening (180) at least one of the exhaust valves and permitting partly burnt gases to expel from the cylinder via said at least one exhaust valve by performing an exhaust stroke (ES).

Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for controlling lubrication of a connecting rod bearing of an internal combustion engine arrangement. The method comprises the steps of controlling an inlet valve to be maintained in the closed position during a movement of the reciprocating piston from the top dead center during an intake stroke for a predetermined number of crank angle degrees; and positioning the inlet valve in the open position when the reciprocating piston has traveled the predetermined number of crank angle degrees from the top dead center, wherein lubricating medium is provided to the connecting rod bearing within a predetermined time period before the inlet valve is arranged in the open position.
