摘要:
A marking tool holder (10) for a punch press, in which a plurality of marking tools (46) are mounted in an indexing carrier (38) for selective activation by the press ram (14). A non-positive connection effects driving of the preselected marking tool (46) to eliminate the need for precise adjustment of the marking tool position. In a first embodiment, a pair of very stiff springs (138) are interposed between a ram engaged plunger (124) and a striker (70), while in the second embodiment, a striker mass (158) attached to the striker (70) and carried in a body member (60) which is accelerated by the ram (14) to generate kinetic energy converted into a marking pressure when the marking tool (46) impacts the workpiece (W).

A multitool punch holder (12) having a head member (26) coupled to a punch press ram (16) as the press upper turret plate (22) rotates to bring the punch holder (12) into alignment with the ram (16). The punch holder (12) includes a rotary tool carrier (56) carrying a series of punches (80), each able to be selectively rotated into alignment beneath a striker rod (100) slidably mounted in a non rotating body member (30). Stroking of the ram (16) causes an engagement feature (108) to engage the striker rod (100) when the head member (26) telescopes into the body member (30) after axial movement of the holder (12) is arrested by contact with the workpiece (120). The striker rod (100) is then driven to force the coupled individual punch (80) into the workpiece (120). The striker rod (100) is urged to a raised position by an encircling stripper spring (110). A separation spring (42) urges the ram (16) and body member (30) to retracted position with the striker rod (100) out of engagement with the ram engagement feature (108). A detachable striker plate (88) of urethane provides non-marring contact with the workpiece (120).

A multitool punch holder is disclosed in which a tool carrier (22) holds a circumferential array of punches (76) in a corresponding series of bores. Each punch (76) is attached to a stem rod (50) having an upper end protruding above the tool carrier (22). The tool carrier (22) is rotated by an index drive (102, 104, 106, 108) so as to bring a selected one of the stem rods (50) beneath a ram drive features (100) protruding radially outward to lie above the stem rod ends (52). The tool carrier (22) is coupled to the ram (14) by a head member (20) which is telescopically received therein allowing the ram (14) to continue its descent after contact of the tool carrier (22) with the workpiece, the ram (14) having a feature (100) engaging a selected stem rod end (52) lying beneath the ram drive feature (100) to cause advance of the attached punch (76) against the resistance of an encircling stripper spring (62).

A system is disclosed for neutralizing the punching reaction forces in an open frame punch press in which inclined primary links mounted on the upper and lower frame members are stressed by linkage actuators during punching so as to counteract the punching reaction force. In one embodiment, a charging cylinder mounted to be acted on by the punch ram actuator generates hydraulic pressure used to operate linkage actuators. In that embodiment, the primary links are combined with secondary links to form toggle linkages to enable mechanical force multiplication of the force applied by the linkage actuators. In another embodiment the primary links converge and are pivotally connected at their rear ends to each other and a single secondary link, with a single cylinder at the forward end of one of the primary links, placing the primary links in tension during punching operations to neutralize the punching reaction forces acting on the press frame.

Methods and systems for managing reset of a physical function of an I/O device in a computing system are disclosed, where the physical function is included in a single-root PCI manager. One method includes maintaining a count of active virtual functions associated with the physical function included in the single-root PCI manager, and, upon determining that no active virtual functions are associated with the physical function, allowing the physical function to be reset within the single-root PCI manager. The method further includes while resetting the physical function, persisting a configuration memory space associated with the physical function, and associating the persisted configuration memory space with the physical function after the physical function is reset.

A composite material comprising a layer of ferritic stainless steel of up to 0.005 inches thickness covered on both sides by a layer of austenitic stainless steel of up to 0.005 inches thickness and suitable for induction heating. A second composite material comprising the material above further bonded to an aluminum layer and another layer of austenitic stainless steel. Cookware made of both types of composite material.

A punch press (20), for punching a workpiece, utilizing an elongated punch support which is formed from removable interconnected punch cartridges (92) and an elongated die support which is formed from removable interconnected die cartridges (94). A punch head (32) is supported from a frame (30) which spans the punching area. A two axis positioning system is provided for positioning the sheet metal workpiece within the punching area beneath the punch head. Punch head (32) through appropriate mechanical interposer (160) engages a punch which in conjunction with an associated die, positioned there beneath, forms a hole in the workpiece. The elongated punch sections (92) and die sections (94) can be moved out of the punch press frame, disengaged and removed or replaced. The first punch section (92) and first die section (94) engage driver sections (192, 194) which are disposed in the frame (30). The driver sections (192, 194) are then moved to bring the tool supporting sections (92, 94) into the press. A second punching head (34 ) which is separated by the length of one cartridge (92, 94) can be provided for double punching. A disappearing table (95) which is engaged by the last die section (94) brought into the press is utilized for supporting the worksheet. Each cartridge section includes at least two rows of tools. Aligning holes for all tools are on one side of each tool cartridge (92, 94). Before punching the aligning holes are engaged by an index pin to provide high accuracy alignment of the selected punch and die.

A system is described for receiving mixed mail pieces, for singulating the machinable mail including flats, and for culling all of the pieces into respective discrete categories for further processing. The system is characterized by an inherent freedom from jams and consequent mail damage and features a recycle loop which provides a continuous, substantially uniform output of machinable mail.

A dryer configured to dry agricultural or non-agricultural products is provided. The dryer may include a unitary source plenum that supplies air to compartments in which products are contained. Plenum conditioners may condition the air in the unitary source plenum through, for example, controlling the humidity, temperature, and flow rate of the air. Compartment conditioners may adjust the conditions of the air in each of the compartments. Thereby air may be efficiently pre-conditioned in the unitary source plenum, and then the conditions of the air may be adjusted to optimize drying of products in each of the compartments. Related methods are also provided.

Trapping and/or processing of read/write accesses to hardware devices represented to the host through a memory mapped space may be performed without knowledge of the processor's instruction set or semantics of the processor's instructions. A single step routine may be executed to recognize page faults occurring from read/write accesses to emulated memory pages and causing the guest to retry the operation on a single step buffer. The hypervisor may perform post-operation processing on the single step buffer after the guest retries and completes the read or write access. For example, on a read request, the single step routine may place the guest value in the single step buffer for reading by the guest on a retry operation. On a write request, the single step routine may direct the guest to retry the write operation into the single step buffer. After the retry operation the single step routine may read the guest value from the single step buffer and place the guest value in a register of an appropriate emulated system.
