摘要： The disclosure concerns an apparatus for separating impurities from a fibrous suspension. The apparatus includes a tiltable housing having a screen basket supported coaxially therein. A rotor is supported inside the screen basket. The rotor has three zones. There is an upstream zone communicating with the fiber suspension inlet, and inlet in the upstream zone is into the interior of the rotor and then outward past sorting vanes formed at the exterior of the rotor in the first zone and inside of the basket. Downstream of the transport vanes is a second baffle zone defined by a closed drum having transport vanes on the outside thereof. The suspension and impurities are moved downstream by the transport vanes in the second zone. Downstream of the second zone is a third zone with further means for moving impurities downstream, comprising either a centrifugal impeller in the form of vanes or a helical ring. The impurities outlet from the housing is downstream of the rotor and at the other end of the housing away from the inlet. The outlet for purified suspension is outside the screen basket nearer the inlet. A weir establishes a level of suspension in the housing.

摘要： A rotating sorter is provided for the removal of minuscule pollutants from fiber material suspensions by means of a symmetrical fixed filter basket disposed in a fixed spiral-shaped housing and in whose interior a generally vertical axle rotates sorter vanes in close proximity to the filter basket. Fiber material suspension to be sorted is delivered to a generally ring-shaped sorting space formed between the filter basket and housing. The direction of flow of fiber material suspension delivered to the filter basket occurs substantially tangentially thereto and generally perpendicular to the rotating axle, and quality material is sorted into the interior of the filter basket. The apparatus of the present invention is distinguished by an inlet nozzle which communicates with the sorting space through a generally vertically disposed slit, and by the sorting space steadily narrowing or tapering from a width equal to the width of the slit and along the axial length of the filter basket beginning at least at a point level with the slit, whereby the tapering of the sorting space occurs in a spiral fashion in the direction of flow of the fiber material suspension along the filter basket. This results in a higher degree of sorting effectiveness, especially in preventing the removal of long fibers with ejected material.

摘要： A sorter with a symmetric screen which is arranged concentrically in an essentially symmetric housing, and in the interior of which there is contained a concentric rotor drum that features on its periphery sorting elements sweeping across the screen, circulating at least parts of the suspension being sorted around the walls of the drum. The sorting elements are of a design such that they will generate a vortex flow of the suspension in the housing. The housing features at its periphery at least one removal duct for heavy contaminants and, in one of its end walls, a central lightweight dirt drain. The housing end wall that features the lightweight dirt drain has, in the direction away from the screen and the rotor drum, from radially outside to radially inside, a diameter that tapers in conic fashion by maximally 11 mm per each 3 mm of axial housing length, and minimally by 2 mm per each 3 mm of axial housing length.

摘要： An apparatus for purifying a fibrous suspension which contains contaminants of varying size and mass has a housing and a rotor for imparting a vortex motion to the fluid contained in the housing. Lighter contaminants are collected in the core of the vortex and travel generally on axis to an opening in the end of the housing. Heavier contaminants acquire radial velocity due to centrifugal force and migrate to the wall of the housing when the stream is deviated by nearly 180.degree.. The liquid then traverses a surrounding screen which retains further contaminants. Provision is made for comminuting specks and the like.

摘要： A rotor for a sorting apparatus for cleaning fibrous suspensions such as produced from the making of paper is described. The rotor is equipped with sorter blades which extend substantially parallel to the axis of rotation and are set at a desired angle relative to the direction of rotation of the rotor so as to create a hydrofoil effect. The sorter blades are mounted to one or more supporting walls shaped in a spiral form to provide spiral surfaces which are coaxial with the axis of rotation of the rotor and impart a conveying motion to the fibrous suspension. Upon rotation of the rotor in a fibrous suspension entanglements by impurities are avoided and the danger of the occurrence of a blockage of the strainer used in the sorter apparatus is reduced.

摘要： In a pulping apparatus including a pulper with a rotor near the bottom therein, the pulper has a sluice outlet at the bottom for acceptable pulp suspension. Above the rotor at a corner of the pulper is a second outlet for suspension and dirt. A conduit leads from the second outlet to a horizontally oriented withdrawal apparatus chamber having a suspension agitating rotor at the end of the chamber opposite the entrance for pulp thereinto. A tangential outlet from the withdrawal apparatus chamber lead to a rotary, perforated sorting drum which permits exit of acceptable suspension and which has a rejected suspension and dirt outlet. A valve in the inlet to the withdrawal apparatus chamber is periodically and cyclically opened to permit periodic replacement of the suspension in the withdrawal apparatus chamber, and the suspension which has been agitated in the withdrawal apparatus chamber then moves to the sorting drum.

摘要： A process and plant for treating waste paper in which a beater is employed for rough-pulping the waste paper followed by a first sorting stage from which the separated-out foreign matter is processed further in a subsidiary circuit which includes a vibratory sorter for lightweight foreign matter and a hydrocyclone for heavy foreign matter, the fibers separated out during this further processing being returned again to the treatment process. In the first sorting stage, a sufficiently rigorous separation process is carried out to remove the greater part of the foreign matter, together with unpulped lumps of fibers, which is then passed to the subsidiary circuit in which it and half-stuffs still containing foreign matter, which have been sorted in the hydro-cyclone and in the vibratory sorter, are subjected together to a multi-stage further sorting and speck-removing process. The plant is characterized in that the strainer has such small holes that, in general, only pulped fibers can pass through it, and in that in the subsidiary circuit behind the vibratory sorter and the hydro-cyclone a second sorter is arranged, the half-stuff outlet duct from which opens out again in the treatment process.
