The display device includes first and second panels positioned substantially parallel to each other, a liquid crystal layer disposed between the first and second panels, and a sealant attaching the the first and second panels to each other and sealing in the liquid crystal layer between the two panels. A sealant portion of at least one of the first and second panels includes a rough surface, the sealant portion contacting to the sealant upon the attaching of the two panels. The rough surface in the sealant portion allows the formation of a seal between the panels that is strong enough to be is suitable for use with a flexible substrate (e.g., a plastic substrate).

In a method of manufacturing the substrate, a bare hydrophobic substrate is disposed in a plasma chamber. A hydrophilic body portion is formed on a surface of the bare substrate by exposing bare substrate to plasma generated in the plasma chamber. The hydrophilic image display elements may be formed on a flexible substrate so that the display elements are tightly attached to the flexible substrate.

    摘要: An adhesive tape for a flexible display device and a method of manufacturing a flexible display device using the same are provided. The adhesion tape for a flexible display device includes a supporting film; a first adhesive layer formed on a first surface of the supporting film and having an uneven surface; and a second adhesive layer formed on a second surface of the supporting film. Accordingly, separation between the supporter and the flexible substrate may be prevented during the manufacturing process, even if the adhesive layers do not have strong adhesive ingredients. Therefore, the production yield of a flexible display device may be improved and the manufacturing process simplified.
