摘要： Jetting dispensers and methods of non-contact dispensing a hot melt adhesive onto a substrate. The method may include jetting a plurality of droplets of the hot melt adhesive from a nozzle outlet toward the substrate in a direction of travel. Each droplet has a droplet length approximately aligned with the direction of travel and a droplet width shorter than the droplet length. The jetting is controlled such that each of the droplets does not collapse into a spherical-shaped droplet during flight from the nozzle outlet to the substrate. The nozzle outlet may be heated to a first temperature, and the method may further include rapidly heating each droplet of the hot melt adhesive to a second temperature higher than the first temperature upon release from the nozzle outlet.

摘要： A dispensing valve is provided for dispensing liquid from a cartridge. The valve includes a valve body that is adapted to receive at least a portion of the cartridge therein. A valve member is disposed in the valve body and is adapted for fluid communication with the cartridge. A valve seat element is disposed in the valve body and includes a liquid chamber that is in communication with the liquid outlet and is mounted for reciprocating movement between a closed position engaged with the valve member to prevent liquid from exiting the liquid outlet and an open position disengaged from the valve member to allow liquid to flow from the liquid chamber through the liquid outlet. The valve body may include a longitudinal axis and a receive bore extending along the longitudinal axis, with the liquid outlet being substantially co-axial with the receiving bore.

摘要： A system and method applies a plurality of stretched elastic strands onto a substrate such as along a predetermined non-linear path, to form a leg gather of a disposable absorbent personal hygiene product. The system includes an adhesive dispensing module for individually applying adhesive to the elastic strands. A heated strand guide located downstream of the dispensing module includes guide openings for the respective elastic strands. A drive mechanism coupled to the strand guide actuates movement of the strand guide in a direction transverse to the movement direction of the substrate, thereby causing the elastic strands to be applied to the substrate along the predetermined non-linear path.

The carrier conveys the rod-shaped member or stick in a machine direction and also allows rotation of the rod-shaped member about its longitudinal axis. The adhesive applicator includes an application surface positioned to engage the first end of the rod-shaped member. The application surface includes at least one discharge passage for applying adhesive to the first end of the rod-shaped member. The rotator device rotates the rod relative to the application surface and about its longitudinal axis as the rod-shaped member is conveyed along the application surface.

The material may be provided in various forms, such as elongate sheet material dispensed from a roll, or elongate tube material that is flattened to define first and second oppositely disposed sidewalls, for example. The material may be provided in single plies, multiple plies, or as separate sheets that are cut, folded, or otherwise manipulated to form bags, with the adhesive joining selected portions of the bag. A nozzle for dispensing hot melt adhesive includes an air passage that is inclined in a direction toward a liquid outlet. The air passage communicates with an air outlet disposed in a common plane with the liquid outlet.

A pair of adhesive dispensing guns are independently moved with respect to the flaps of the container as the container is conveyed past the guns. Electric actuators, such as linear modules or rotatable servo modules, are used to rapidly accelerate the guns in a direction perpendicular to the path of the container along a conveyor. In this manner, rapid packaging takes place and reliable siftproof patterns are achieved using minimal adhesive.
