摘要: The present invention pertains to an arrangement for the controlled application of adhesive to substrate. In at least one embodiment, the arrangement comprises a) an adhesive reservoir, b) a pump, c) an applicator head having at least one applicator nozzle, d) a volume throughput sensor, and e) a monitoring unit. The reservoir, the pump, and the applicator head are connected together by a conduit system carrying the adhesive. The volume throughput sensor and the monitoring unit are connected together by a pulse transmission line. The monitoring unit, the feed pump, and the applicator head are connected together by control lines. In at least one embodiment, the application of adhesive to substrates is controlled by measuring the volume throughput of the adhesive, transmitting signals indicative of volume throughout to the monitoring unit, and controlling the amount of adhesive applied to the substrate material in-line in response to the signals.

摘要: A method is provided for applying adhesive to the flutes of a corrugated sheet to bond a face surface thereto. An applicator roll is provided with a uniform thin coating of adhesive by a metering rod urged toward the surface of the applicator roll. A rider roll is provided adjacent the applicator roll and at the same height to form a vertical space for passage of the corrugated sheet therebetween so that the amount of glue applied to the crests of the flutes is proportional to the speed of the applicator roll. The space between the applicator roll and the rider roll is precisely controlled to control the degree of compression of the flutes during the application of the adhesive thereto. The flutes are preferably compressed 3-30, preferably 5-15, percent of their initial height to prevent application of adhesive to the rear sloping faces of the flutes. The applicator roll has a surface linear velocity substantially less than the speed of the corrugated sheet to accurately control the amount and placement of adhesive applied to the flutes.

摘要: A pressure-sensitive adhesive composition having well-balanced pressure-sensitive adhesive force and cohesive force without causing any safety or economy problems, a process for the preparation of the same and pressure-sensitive adhesive sheets using the same are disclosed. The pressure-sensitive adhesive composition comprises a crosslinked polymer obtained by crosslinking a block copolymer comprising at least two of a styrene-based polymer block A and an acrylic polymer block B having a structural unit represented by the general formula (1):—[CH2═C(R1)COOR2]— wherein R1 represents a hydrogen atom or methyl group, and R2 represents a C2-14 alkyl group, bonded each other, such as A-B or B-A type block copolymer and A-B-A type block copolymer.

摘要: The application of (for example, elongated strip-shaped) spots of adhesive paste to successive objects (such as paper or cardboard blanks which are to be converted into soft or hinged-lid packs for arrays of cigarettes) which are advanced stepwise below the nozzle or nozzles of one or more pasters at an adhesive-applying station is regulated by a control unit which receives signals denoting the speed of the conveyor for the objects and the position of the object at the adhesive-applying station. The control unit regulates the operation of the valve for each nozzle of the paster by taking into consideration the inertia of electrical and mechanical constituents of the paster. This ensures the application of spots having an optimum shape and an optimum position relative to the respective objects and containing predetermined quantities of adhesive. The control unit ascertains a compensation interval for the inertia which is added to or subtracted from a system-dependent correction interval which reflects the pattern of advancement of the objects.

摘要: A flame retardant adhesive tissue paper for fabricating moldable structures, particularly suitable for forming laminates for the interior of automobiles is provided. The flame retardant adhesive tissue is prepared by screen printing an aqueous paste dispersion including a flame retardant and thermoplastic adhesive dispersed therein in discontinuous pattern onto one surface of the paper. After removal of water, the drying temperatures is increased to activate the thermoplastic adhesive to adhere to the surface of the tissue with the flame retardants solids dispersed within the interior of the tissue paper. The adhesive coated tissue paper has good acoustic properties and imparts flame retardancy to a laminate including it.

摘要: A method of applying adhesive to major and minor flaps of a container in a siftproof adhesive pattern. A pair of adhesive dispensing guns are independently moved with respect to the flaps of the container as the container is conveyed past the guns. Electric actuators, such as linear modules or rotatable servo modules, are used to rapidly accelerate the guns in a direction perpendicular to the path of the container along a conveyor. In this manner, rapid packaging takes place and reliable siftproof patterns are achieved using minimal adhesive.
