摘要: In a superconducting current limiter 1, in the limiting state pressure waves which may damage the superconductor are produced as a result of the evaporation of cooling liquid. According to the invention, the current limiter is not immersed in a cooling liquid, but rather is brought into thermal contact with a cooling fluid 22 which does not undergo a phase transition at over the operating temperature and therefore does not evaporate in the limiting state. A refrigeration reservoir 21, which may be the condensed phase of a gaseous cooling fluid or a cryogenic cooler, determines the operating temperature of the current limiter. One advantage is that it is now possible for a plurality of plate-like current-limiter modules 10, 10′ of unlimited size to be arranged next to one another in the cooling fluid 22.

摘要: A direct current cable termination apparatus for terminating a high voltage direct current cable. The apparatus includes a current-carrying device including a terminal portion of the direct current cable, the cable including an electrical conductor, an electrically insulating layer located outside of the electrical conductor, and a conductive shield located outside of the insulating layer and the electrical conductor; and a housing including a tubular outer shell with an inner periphery and formed by an electrically insulating and polymer-containing material. The current-carrying device is adapted to extend in the axial direction of the outer shell. Along at least a part of the axial extension of the current-carrying device the outer shell extends axially with a space between its inner periphery and the current-carrying device.

摘要: A high voltage switching device includes a current interruption assembly having at least one vacuum chamber, a fixed contact assembly having a first fixed contact and a second fixed contact positioned inside the vacuum chamber, and first and second movable-contact assemblies including a first movable contact and a second movable contact, respectively. A single mechanism actuates the first and second movable-contact assemblies between a first position and second position. In the first position, the first and second movable contacts are electrically coupled with the first and second fixed contacts, respectively. And in the second position, the first and second moveable contacts are electrically separated the same. The first movable contact and the second movable contact move, along a reference axis, one towards the other or away from the other based on the actuating mechanism.

According to invention, the filler (1′) comprises larger spherical particles (5) and smaller irregular particles (6) that are arranged interstitially and provide non-point-like and/or multiple contact areas (56, 56a, 56b, 66) owing to their irregular outer shape comprising edges and faces. Embodiments, among other things, relate to: spherical particles (5) being calcinated and broken-up to retain their original shape; irregular, spikly shaped, particles (6) obtained by calcinating or sintering and crushing or fracturing granules or blocks; and addition of a third filler fraction. Advantages, among others, are: higher filler contents, more and more durable inter-particle contacts (56, 56a, 56b, 66), enlarged effective micro-contact area, and improved electrical performance of the nonlinear electrical material.

摘要: A direct current cable termination apparatus for terminating a high voltage direct current cable. The apparatus includes a current-carrying device including a terminal portion of the direct current cable, the cable including an electrical conductor, an electrically insulating layer located outside of the electrical conductor, and a conductive shield located outside of the insulating layer and the electrical conductor; and a housing including a tubular outer shell with an inner periphery and formed by an electrically insulating and polymer-containing material. The current-carrying device is adapted to extend in the axial direction of the outer shell. Along at least a part of the axial extension of the current-carrying device the outer shell extends axially with a space between its inner periphery and the current-carrying device.

摘要: The disclosure relates to an overvoltage protection means containing ZnO microvaristor particles for protecting electrical elements and a method to produce the means. Single microvaristor particles are placed in an arrangement having a monolayer thickness and are electrically coupled to the electrical element to protect it against overvoltages. Embodiments, among other things, relate to: 1-dimensional or 2-dimensional arrangements of microvaristor particles; placement of single microvaristors on a carrier; the carrier being planar or string-like, being structured, being a sticky tape, having fixation means for fixing the microvaristors, or having electrical coupling means. The monolayered overvoltage protection means allows very tight integration and high flexibility in shaping and adapting it to the electric or electronic element. Furthermore, reduced capacitance and hence reaction times of overvoltage protection are achieved.

摘要: A high voltage switching device includes a current interruption assembly having at least one vacuum chamber, a fixed contact assembly having a first fixed contact and a second fixed contact positioned inside the vacuum chamber, and first and second movable-contact assemblies including a first movable contact and a second movable contact, respectively.
