摘要： A protective helmet of a type worn by a firefighter or by an emergency worker, wherein the protective helmet is equipped with a mounting device, by which a badge having a front face bearing indicia is mounted to the protective helmet. The mounting device comprises a fitment, which is mounted to the protective helmet and which has a recess opening downwardly and receiving an upper portion of the badge, the upper portion comprising an upper end of the badge. The mounting device comprises a blade, which is mounted to the protective helmet and which has a portion extending upwardly along a back face of the badge as far as the upper edge of the badge, or farther. The badge may be predominantly made of leather. The blade is a leaf spring, which biases the badge frontwardly.

摘要： A drag harness is disposed within a protective garment, such as a protective coat, except that the drag harness has two gripping portions, each of which extends outwardly from the protective garment, through an associated one of two separate openings of the protective garment, and which are connected to each other, outside the protective garment. Being connected to each other outside the protective garment, the gripping portions cannot be inadvertently pulled in to the protective garment, through the garment openings.

摘要： As worn by a firefighter or by an emergency rescue worker, a facemask is combined with an earpiece, which is mounted to the facemask, via an arm, so as to extend into an ear canal of a wearer wearing the facemask. The earpiece comprises a temperature sensor, which is arranged to measure a temperature in the ear canal of the wearer. Via known technology, the temperature can be then used to calculate, determine, or approximate body core temperature of the wearer. The earpiece comprises a microphone and a speaker, which provide for audible communication between the wearer and another.

Rather than one gripping loop, a pair of gripping loops, each having a fixed length, can be advantageously used. The arm loops are made from a non-abrading material, which may be rope, such as cotton rope or polyester rope. Alternatively, the non-abrading material may be a material, such as strapping, webbing, or rope, which has a surface finish providing the material with a non-abrading characteristic.

摘要： Being reversible, a protective garment for a military or paramilitary firefighter or emergency worker has a shell of high visibility and a shell of low visibility. The shell of high visibility has portions that are reflective, fluorescent, or both, which the shell of low visibility does not have. When facing outwardly, the shell of low visibility appears black, or at least dark, in ambient light or displays camouflage. Except that the shell of low visibility does not have any reflective or fluorescent portions, the shells conform to National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) standards for outer shells of protective garments for firefighters. The shells are equal, or at least similar, in basis weights.

摘要： For a military or paramilitary firefighter or emergency worker, a protective garment has an outer shell, an inner liner providing thermal insulation, and a moisture barrier between the outer shell and the inner liner. The outer shell has a surface of high visibility and a surface of low visibility and is reversible. The outer shell has reflective trim on the surface of high visibility but not on the surface of low visibility. The inner liner and the moisture barrier are attachable detachably to the outer shell so as to be wearable within whichever surface becomes an inner surface of the outer shell. The protective garment with the surface of high visibility facing outwardly and with the inner liner and the moisture barrier worn within the outer shell conforms to the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) 1971 standard for “Protective Clothing for Structural Fire Fighting.”

摘要： A protective garment for a firefighter, a rescue worker, a chemical worker, or another worker working in a hazardous environment, has plural layers, each of which comprises a polymeric film that is fluid-impervious where not penetrated, which are not laminated, and which are detached from one another, except at seams at their boundaries and, possibly, if and where those layers are quilted. Spaces containing air only or containing an absorbent material are defined by those layers, in regions bounded by the seams. Whatever those spaces may contain, in regions bounded by the seams, those layers provide a wearer of the protective garment with redundant protection against fluid entry.
