Abstract:
A fuser comprises a substrate and a composite layer formed on the substrate. The composite layer comprises a fluoropolymer and at least one of (a) perfluorosulfonated polymer-treated, carbon nanotube-comprising particles, and (b) perfluorosulfonated polymer-treated, graphene-comprising particles. Methods of making a fuser and methods of fusing toner particles are also disclosed.
Abstract:
A composite includes a sulfonated polyester matrix and a plurality of silver nanoparticles dispersed within the matrix. Methods to make these composites include heating a sulfonated polyester resin in an organic-free solvent adding a solution of silver (I) ion to the heated resin in water to form a mixture, adding a solution of a reducing agent to the mixture, thereby forming an emulsion of composite particles including a sulfonated polyester matrix and a plurality of silver nanoparticles disposed within the sulfonated polyester matrix. Various articles can be manufactured from such composites.
Abstract:
The disclosure provides pigment dispersions having an average particle size of from about 10 nm to about 500 nm prepared by employing a magnetic actuated milling process and system. In embodiments, the pigment dispersions have an average particle size of less than 100 nm.
Abstract:
A toner composite material includes toner particles that include a sulfonated polyester and a wax and metal nanoparticles disposed on the surface of the toner particles. A method includes providing such toner composite materials, fusing the material to a substrate and covalently linking a ligand to the surface of the silver nanoparticles via a thiol, carboxylate, or amine functional group. Detection strips include a substrate and such toner composite materials fused on the substrate.
Abstract:
An article of manufacture includes a substrate and a stretchable, conductive film. The stretchable, conductive film includes a plurality of annealed silver nanoparticles disposed on the substrate. The conductive film can be formed from a liquid composition comprising silver nanoparticles in a decalin solvent. The conductive film can further include a first conductivity associated with an as-annealed shape of the conductive film, and the film can include a second conductivity upon being stretched in at least one direction beyond the as-annealed shape.
Abstract:
A nanocomposite includes a core comprising a first polymer, a shell disposed about the core, the shell comprising a sulfonated polyester, the first polymer and sulfonated polyester are different, and a plurality of silver nanoparticles disposed throughout the shell layer.
Abstract:
Disclosed herein include toner compositions with toner particles having a core-shell type structure, where the core comprises a first resin comprising a styrene-acrylate copolymer and an amorphous polyester resin, and the shell comprises a second resin comprising beta-carboxyethyl acrylate (b-CEA) in an amount of from about 0.05 pph to about 2.5 pph by weight of the second resin.
Abstract:
The disclosure provides pigment dispersions having an average particle size of from about 10 nm to about 500 nm prepared by employing a magnetic actuated milling process and system. In embodiments, the pigment dispersions have an average particle size of less than 100 nm.
Abstract:
A member for a fuser assembly of a printer. The member may include a support body and a composite coating disposed on an outer surface of the support body. The composite coating may include a fluororesin and a nanocarbon material dispersed within the fluororesin. The nanocarbon material may be present in a higher concentration proximate the support body and a lower concentration proximate an outer surface of the composite coating. The lower concentration may be less than or equal to about 2 wt % of the nanocarbon material.
