In certain embodiments, the heat transfer fluids/heat exchange fluids, heat storage media, and working media in the system are all phase change materials with transition temperatures close to each other and in decreasing order and perform their respective function through phase changes within a relatively narrow temperature range. Methods to control heat transfer rate, heat exchange and/or heat charging/discharging rate between heat collection, thermal energy storage and heat utility apparatus at will are provided. Methods of controlling such systems are also provided.

The coding comprises receiving texture data for a temporal instance of a view of video data, receiving depth data corresponding to the texture data for the temporal instance of the view of video data, and encapsulating the texture data and the depth data in a view component for the temporal instance of the view, such that the texture data and the depth data are encapsulated within a common bitstream.

This disclosure describes techniques for estimating a depth of image objects for a two-dimensional (2D) view of a video presentation. For example, an initial indication of depth (e.g., an optical flow) may be determined for a 2D view. The initial indication of depth may be used to estimate global motion, e.g., motion of an observer (e.g., camera), of the 2D view. The initial indication of depth may be modified based on the estimation of global motion to create a global motion-adjusted indication of depth. The global motion-adjusted depth indication may be used to create a depth map for the 2D view, which may be used to generate an alternative view of the video presentation that may be used to display a three-dimensional (3D) video presentation.

A light tube for producing light, which may be used in the light fittings, desk lamps, vehicle lights etc. The light tube comprises a plurality of segments arranged end to end along the end of the light tube. Each segment has a transparent or translucent rod 706 having two ends, a head spreader 703 by at least one of said ends and an LED 705 mounted to each heat spreader 703 for directing light laterally into the rod 706. The heat spreaders 703 are mounted to a metal jacket 702 for dissipating heat. The light tube further comprises one or more reflectors 708, 711 for reflecting light out of the light tube.
