摘要: Systems, methods, and devices are provided for the treatment of edema. In one aspect a method for implanting an indwelling catheter within a vein of a patient is provided. The catheter can extend from a position upstream of at least one outflow port of a duct of the lymph system to a terminal position downstream of the at least one outflow port. In use, a first restriction can be created within the vein proximal to a distal region of the catheter. The first restriction can define a localized low pressure zone distal of the restriction and within a portion of the vein housing the catheter. The low pressure zone can be adjacent to the at least one outflow port to enable fluid to pass from the at least one lymph duct outflow port into the vein.

摘要: A device for regulating blood pressure between a patient's left atrium and right atrium comprises an hourglass-shaped stent comprising a neck region and first and second flared end regions, the neck region disposed between the first and second end regions and configured to engage the fossa ovalis of the patient's atrial septum; and a one-way tissue valve coupled to the first flared end region and configured to shunt blood from the left atrium to the right atrium when blood pressure in the left atrium exceeds blood pressure in the right atrium. The inventive devices may reduce left atrial pressure and left ventricular end diastolic pressure, and may increase cardiac output, increase ejection fraction, relieve pulmonary congestion, and lower pulmonary artery pressure, among other benefits. The inventive devices may be used, for example, to treat subjects having heart failure, pulmonary congestion, or myocardial infarction, among other pathologies.

摘要: A system and method to model a tracking curve of an in-vivo device capturing in-vivo data of the colon is provided. Data analysis is performed on a raw tracking curve to identify one or more milestone data points that correspond to defined locations in the colon. A modeled path may be defined between and along the selected milestone data points. Raw tracking curve data may be translated to modeled data along the modeled path. The modeled tracking curve may be displayed alongside a streaming display of captured in-vivo image frames of the colon.

摘要: A probe assembly for use in a surgical procedure is described. The probe assembly can include a sensor which can be implanted in a patient responsive to external electromagnetic fields for generating position data, an insertion tool for the sensor, which can be used to manipulate the sensor and to deliver it to the desired implantation site and electronic circuitry configured to handle a signal which can interact with the sensor. The electronic circuitry and the insertion tool can have mating formations by which they can be assembled together. The electronic circuitry can be a field generator for generating an electromagnetic field for the sensor.

摘要: A sensor which can be implanted in a body part to collect data relating to the body part, the sensor includes a jacket which has a side wall which can be deformed inwardly, and first and second ends. A sensor part is contained within the jacket, and fastened to the jacket at or towards the first end of the jacket. The sensor part is at least partially isolated from compressive forces applied to the sensor which cause the side wall of the jacket to deform inwardly.
