    摘要: A sintered cermet and a cutting tool are provided which have high toughness and high anti-chipping. The sintered cermet comprises a hard phase composed of one or more kinds selected from carbides, nitrides, and carbonitrides of one or more metals selected from metals belonging to Groups 4, 5, and 6 of the periodic table, each of which is composed mainly of Ti; and a binder phase composed mainly of Ni and Co. When the crystal lattice constant of the binder phase is measured by Pawley method, two kinds of binder phases having two kinds of crystal lattice constants 31 and 32 exist in the interior of the sintered cermet. Alternatively, two peaks belonging to the (220) plane of the hard phase, namely, a low-angle-side-peak and a high-angle-side peak are detected in the interior of the sintered cermet, and a modified part exists in the vicinity of the surface, in which three peaks belonging to the (220) plane of the hard phase, namely, the low-angle-side peak, an intermediate-position peak, and the high-angle-side peak are detected.

The cutting tool, namely a tip 1, comprises a sintered cermet comprising: a hard phase 11 comprising one or more selected from among carbides, nitrides, and carbonitrides which comprise mainly Ti; and a binder phase 14 comprising mainly at least one of Co and Ni. The tip 1 has a cutting edge 4 lying along an intersecting ridge portion between a rake face 2 and a flank face 3, and a nose 5. The hard phase 11 comprises a first hard phase 12 and a second hard phase 13. When a residual stress is measured on the rake face 2 by 2D method, a residual stress σ11[1r] of the first hard phase 12 in a direction (σ11 direction), which is parallel to the rake face 2 and goes from the center of the rake face 2 to the nose being the closest to a measuring point, is 50 MPa or below in terms of compressive stress (σ11[1r]=−50 to 0 MPa), and a residual stress σ11[2r] of the second hard phase 13 in the σ11 direction is 150 MPa or above in terms of compressive stress (σ11[2r]≦−150 MPa).

    摘要: A cutting tool composed of a sintered cermet body is disclosed. The body includes hard phases composed of carbide(s), nitride(s), and carbonitride(s) of metal(s) selected from metals belonging to Groups 4, 5, and 6 of the periodic table including Ti as a main component, and includes first and second hard phases, and a binding phase mainly composed of at least one of Co and Ni. The body includes first and second faces, a cutting edge located at an edge of the first and second faces, and an interior portion located at a depth of 400 μm or more from the first face. When residual stresses are measured by a 2D method, stress of the first hard phase is 80 MPa or more in terms of compressive stress. Stresses of the second hard phase and the binding phase are −50 MPa to 50 Mpa in terms of compressive or tensile stress.
