摘要: A fuel assembly including a plurality of fuel rods and water rods. The fuel rods are arranged with a predetermined pitch and two water rods are disposed adjacent to each other in a diagonal direction of the fuel assembly. More particularly, the fuel rods are arranged in a lattice of nine rows by nine columns and the two water rods are disposed inside a region corresponding to a space sufficient for disposing seven fuel rods at the center of the fuel assembly. Each of the water rods has an outer diameter greater than the pitch of the fuel rods.

摘要: A nuclear fuel assembly has an array of fuel rods comprising a plurality of first fuel rods each containing nuclear fuel material but not containing burnable poison and a plurality of further fuel rods each containing both nuclear fuel material and burnable poison. The further fuel rods comprise second fuel rods and third fuel rods, and each second fuel rod has at a lower region of the fuel assembly a burnable poison concentration which is a minimum burnable poison concentration in the further fuel rods. To increase the effectiveness of the second fuel rods in controlling axial power peaking, as seen in plan view on the array, the first fuel rods are the nearest neighbors of each further fuel rod.

摘要: A fuel assembly has a plurality of first fuel rods and a plurality of second fuel rods having a shorter length in an axial direction than the first fuel rods. The second fuel rod is loaded with natural uranium in full length of its effective fuel length portion. The fuel assembly has a water rod having a larger horizontal cross sectional area at the upper region than the area at the lower region. The second fuel rods are arranged downward of the upper region of the water rod and adjacent to the lower region of the water rod. The width of the horizontal cross sectional area of the lower region of the water rod is set so as to locate the minimum values of both thermal neutron flux and resonance neutron flux in the horizontal direction of the fuel assembly at an outer side with respect the location of the second fuel rod in the horizontal direction. In accordance with the present invention, the H/U ratio in the axial direction becomes close to the optimum value, and increment of the resonance neutron absorption and flattening of the thermal neutron flux in the horizontal direction are achieved.

摘要: A nuclear fuel assembly for a nuclear reactor has a plurality of vertically extending fuel rods arranged side by side in a square array and containing fissile material. The array has two adjacent first sides which are next to a control rod region of the core and two adjacent second sides which are next to a non-control rod region of the core. When the rods of the array as seen in horizontal cross section, excluding the rods lying on the diagonal line joining the opposite corners of the array at which the control rod region meets the non-control rod region, is divided into four regions which area: the rods in the row and column of said array adjoining said first sides;b: the rods lying between said region a and said diagonal line;c: the rods lying between said region d and said diagonal line,d: the rods in the row and column of said array adjoining said second sides and; over at east part of the height containing fissile material, the average concentration of fissile material per fuel rod is higher in said region b than said region c and by at least 5% and, among all said regions a, b, c, d, is a minimum in said region a. This provides good control rod worth and low local power peaking.

摘要: A fuel assembly comprises fuel rods arrayed in a square lattice pattern of 10 rows and 10 columns, and three large-diameter water rods arranged along a diagonal line of the fuel assembly in such a region as able to accommodate 10 fuel rods. Partial length fuel rods are arranged in an outermost layer of the fuel rod array at fuel rod setting positions other than corners of the outermost layer. Ordinary fuel rods are arranged in a layer inside the outermost layer and adjacent to the outermost layer at positions adjacent to the partial length fuel rods in the outermost layer.The struction of the fuel assembly enables a reduction in the void coefficient and an improvement in the reactivity control capability. Also, the void coefficient can be reduced without lowering reactivity, and fuel economy is improved.

摘要: A fuel assembly comprises a plurality of fuel rods, a lower tie plate for supporting lower ends of the fuel rods, and a channel box surrounding a bundle of the fuel rods and the circumference of the lower tie plate to thereby define a cooling water leak passage between the lower tie plate and the channel box. The fuel assembly includes a venturi provided in the lower tie plate for generating a force tending to attract the channel box toward the lower tie plate under the action of a leak stream of the cooling water passing through the cooling water leak passage. The fuel assembly also includes an arrangement provided in the lower tie plate for suppressing vibrations of the channel box caused upon an influence of the venturi.

Some of fuel assemblies have an infinite multiplication factor which is larger at their upper regions than at their lower portions, so that the effective multiplication factor of the reactor core is larger at the upper portion than at the lower portion of the reactor core under an equal condition. Consequently, a relatively flat axial power distribution is established even under an uneven axial void distribution.

摘要: A fuel assembly suitable for use in boiling water reactor. The fuel assembly has a specific pattern of distribution of enrichment, so that the upper region of the assembly has a larger infinite multiplication factor than that of the lower region. In an example, the distribution of enrichment is such that the upper region has a mean enrichment larger than that of the lower region, while, in another example, the mean enrichment is maintained constant over the length of the assembly but the difference of enrichments between the central and peripheral portions of a plane normal to the axis of the assembly is made smaller at the upper region than at the lower region.
