摘要: A resistance member (e.g., fuel holding portion of the lower tie plate) is provided at the lower end of the fuel assembly. Provision is made of a coolant ascending path in which said water rods have coolant inlet ports that are open in a region lower than the resistance member to upwardly guide the coolant, and a coolant descending path which has a coolant delivery port that is open in a region higher than the resistance member to downwardly guide the coolant. The coolant ascending path and the coolant descending path are communicated with each other at their upper end portions.

摘要: A fuel assembly comprises a plurality of fuel rods which contain nuclear fuel material inside, a lower tie plate which holds the lower end of the fuel rods and has a path inside to lead coolant between the fuel rods, and a channel box which encloses a bundle of the fuel rods. An orifice, in which a plurality of round rods are arranged to cross the coolant flow path, is installed in a through hole at a side wall of the lower tie plate by connecting to the side wall. Orifice coefficient of the orifice becomes large at small flow rate of coolant which supplied to the fuel assembly, and becomes small at large flow rate of coolant. By using the fuel assembly described above, void fraction in a gap region between fuel assemblies can be altered during beginning and end of an operation cycle of the nuclear reactor.

摘要: The lower end of each of a plurality of fuel rods is supported by a fuel supporting portion of a lower tie plate. The fuel supporting portion includes a plurality of second coolant paths for supplying a coolant from below the fuel supporting portion to a first coolant path defined above the fuel supporting portion and between the fuel rods. The total cross-sectional area of all the second coolant paths is smaller than the cross-sectional area of the first coolant path. A water rod disposed between the fuel rods each includes an ascending tube path having therein a coolant ascending path having a coolant inlet port opening to a region below the fuel supporting portion, for guiding upward the coolant supplied through the coolant inlet port, and a descending tube having therein a coolant descending path having a coolant delivery port opening to said first coolant path, for guiding downward the coolant guided by said coolant ascending path and discharging the coolant through the coolant delivery port to the first coolant path. The descending tube path is so disposed outside the ascending tube path as to define a gap, through which the coolant inside the first coolant path flows, between it and the ascending tube path.

摘要: In a fuel assembly having fuel rods inserted into regularly arranged cells of a fuel spacer which keeps the fuel rods correctly spaced from one another and has spacer elements disposed in a plurality of stages in the longitudinal direction of the fuel rods, the fuel spacer comprises vanes formed on the cells in such a manner that each vane is bent from a cut formed in a part of the side wall of the cell. The vanes obliquely project into the corresponding spaces between adjacent fuel rods and allow a coolant flowing through the spaces and forming two-phase flows to generate swirling flows toward the fuel rods. The fuel spacer may alternatively comprise either thin-walled cylinders having built-in vanes or spiral vanes, which are fixed to the spacer that has not been subjected to any direct machining. Also disclosed is a fuel assembly provided with any of the above-described fuel spacers. The arrangement of the present invention enables, while assuring a sufficient strength for maintaining fuel rods in their correct position, the transfer of heat from the fuel rods to the coolant to be promoted so as to raise the allowable power level of the fuel assembly, and enables the void ratio to be lowered so as to increase the reactivity.

摘要: System for preventing erroneous operation of control rods for securing a safety control of a nuclear reactor. The erroneous operation preventing system is comprised of a control rod objective position setting means for setting an objective position of a control rod, a control rod position detector for detecting a position of the control rod, and an operation means which operates a difference between the objective position set up and the detected position of the control rod being operated and produces a signal for blocking the control rod operation when the control rod is operated so that the difference goes away from zero. The erroneous operation blocking system stops the control rod at the first possible control rod stopping position. The erroneous operation preventing system includes a return operation commanding unit for compensating for erroneous operation of the control rod when the control rod is erroneously operated.

摘要: The lower end of each of a plurality of fuel rods is supported by a fuel supporting portion of a lower tie plate. 摘要: A fuel assembly comprises a plurality of fuel rods, a lower tie plate for supporting lower ends of the fuel rods, and a channel box surrounding a bundle of the fuel rods and the circumference of the lower tie plate to thereby define a cooling water leak passage between the lower tie plate and the channel box. The fuel assembly includes a venturi provided in the lower tie plate for generating a force tending to attract the channel box toward the lower tie plate under the action of a leak stream of the cooling water passing through the cooling water leak passage. The fuel assembly also includes an arrangement provided in the lower tie plate for suppressing vibrations of the channel box caused upon an influence of the venturi.

摘要: A fuel assembly including a plurality of fuel rods and water rods. The fuel rods are arranged with a predetermined pitch and two water rods are disposed adjacent to each other in a diagonal direction of the fuel assembly. More particularly, the fuel rods are arranged in a lattice of nine rows by nine columns and the two water rods are disposed inside a region corresponding to a space sufficient for disposing seven fuel rods at the center of the fuel assembly. Each of the water rods has an outer diameter greater than the pitch of the fuel rods.

摘要: A control rod has blades each of which includes a neutron absorption region in which neutron absorbers each loaded to the core of a reactor from below and made of absorption nuclear chain type neutron absorber are disposed. The neutron absorption region is divided into two, upper and lower, regions in an axial direction; the boundary between the upper and lower regions is positioned within the range of from 3/8 to 5/8 of the full length of the neutron absorption region in the axial direction from the lower end of the neutron absorption region; and the quantity of the absorption nuclear chain type neutron absorber contained in the lower region in the section perpendicular to the axial direction is smaller than the quantity of the absorption nuclear chain type neutron absorber contained in the upper region in the section perpendicular to the axial direction.
