摘要: A control system for a compression injection engine can prevent deterioration in exhaust purification at the time of the switching of combustion between spark ignition and compression ignition, at the time of said spark ignition combustion and said compression injection combustion, and can diagnose any deterioration of an NO x detector and a three way catalyst. The control system includes a catalytic converter installed within an exhaust passage of the compression ignition engine for compressing and igniting a pre-mixture of a fuel and air, an air/fuel ratio detector for detecting an air/fuel ratio at upstream side of said catalytic converter, and an NOx detector for detecting NOx at downstream side of said catalytic converter.

摘要: The present invention provides a vehicle diagnostic system comprising an electronic control unit for controlling and monitoring vehicle equipment, a radio communication means for transmitting a vehicle diagnostic information to a telecommunication equipment located outside the vehicle or for communicating between the vehicle and the telecommunication equipment located outside the vehicle and for transmitting a communication diagnostic signal to the electronic control unit and receiving a response signal to the communication diagnostic signal, and a communication line for connecting the electronic control unit and the radio communication means wherein the response signal is utilized to determine if the communication line is properly functional.

摘要: In an internal combustion engine diagnosis apparatus comprising a cleanup catalyst arranged on an exhaust pipe of an internal combustion engine and an HC adsorption catalyst arranged downstream of and in parallel to the cleanup catalyst, degradation and failure of the HC adsorption catalyst is accurately diagnosed. The internal combustion engine diagnosis apparatus comprising the cleanup catalyst arranged in the exhaust pipe of the internal combustion engine; and the HC adsorption catalyst arranged in parallel to and downstream of the cleanup catalyst, during high temperature period the HC adsorption catalyst desorbing and cleaning up HC desorbed during low temperature period, wherein degradation of the HC adsorption catalyst is diagnosed based on a gradient of temperature of the HC adsorption catalyst during a period when temperature of the HC adsorption catalyst is within a range of 50° C. to 250° C.

摘要: A diagnostic device and method of an engine exhaust purifying system, which perform active control of an air-fuel ratio and can make diagnosis of air-fuel ratio sensors, catalysts, etc. in the engine exhaust purifying system with high accuracy and reliability while avoiding a worsening of exhaust emissions, an increase of revolution variations, etc. The diagnostic device comprises an exhaust air-fuel ratio control unit for performing control to keep an air-fuel ratio of exhaust gas flowing into a main catalyst near a stoichiometric ratio in accordance with outputs of downstream air-fuel ratio sensors, a rich/lean switching unit for switching over an air-fuel ratio in each of the cylinder groups to be rich or lean, thereby making diagnosis of each downstream air-fuel ratio sensor, a response detecting unit for detecting a response of the downstream air-fuel ratio sensor when the rich/lean switching of the air-fuel ratio in each cylinder group is performed, and a downstream sensor deterioration determining unit for determining a deterioration of the downstream air-fuel ratio sensor based on the detected response.
