摘要: A method for cleaning an exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) valve includes scheduling a cleaning for the EGR valve, and receiving a signal indicative of a temperature of exhaust gas produced with an internal combustion engine. The method may also include generating a command to actuate an intake throttle valve to a restrictive position to increase the temperature of the exhaust gas for cleaning the EGR valve, and generating a signal to repeatedly actuate the EGR valve.

摘要: A control device for a compression-ignition engine in which partial compression-ignition combustion including spark ignition (SI) combustion performed by combusting a portion of a mixture gas inside a cylinder by spark-ignition followed by compression ignition (CI) combustion performed by causing the remaining mixture gas to self-ignite is executed at least within a part of an engine operating range is provided, which includes a detector configured to detect a given parameter that changes as combustion progresses inside the cylinder, an A/F (air-fuel ratio) controller configured to change an air-fuel ratio of air to fuel introduced into the cylinder, and a combustion controller configured to determine combustion stability based on the detected parameter of the detector and control the A/F controller to reduce the air-fuel ratio when it is confirmed that during the partial compression-ignition combustion the combustion stability is low.

摘要: Systems and methods for a turbocharged engine comprising an exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) valve and an EGR valve differential pressure sensor disposed in a low pressure EGR (LPEGR) system of the engine and a differential pressure (dP) valve that is distinct from a throttle valve and a dP valve outlet pressure sensor disposed in an induction system of the engine utilize a controller configured to, based on the sensed pressures, determine (i) a modeled pressure at the EGR pickup, (ii) a modeled pressure at outlet of an EGR cooler, (iii) a modeled pressure at an outlet of an air filter and (iv) a modeled pressure at the dP valve outlet, and control the dP valve and the EGR valve based on the modeled EGR pickup pressure, the modeled EGR cooler outlet pressure, the modeled air filter outlet pressure, and the modeled dP valve outlet pressure.

摘要: Systems and methods for a turbocharged gasoline engine utilize a controller configured to receive a set of parameters including a measured pressure delta across an exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) valve disposed in a low pressure EGR (LPEGR) system of the engine and a measured pressure at an outlet of a differential pressure (dP) valve disposed in and distinct from a throttle valve of an induction system of the engine. The controller is further configured to determine a set of modeled pressures based on the set of parameters, a target EGR valve mass flow, a target EGR valve delta pressure, a current dP valve mass flow, and a pressure at an outlet of the air filter, determine target positions for the EGR valve and the dP valve based on the set of modeled pressures, and control the EGR valve and the dP valve based on their respective target positions.

摘要: A low-pressure loop EGR device for an engine with a supercharger, EGR passage, and EGR valve. An ECU controls the EGR valve to fully close, the intake valve to fully open, and the throttle valve to open at a sonic opening degree during deceleration and fuel cut-off. The ECU obtains an actual opening degree of the throttle valve based on the detected intake amount and a predetermined reference formula of valve passing flow rate. The ECU performs correction control of the throttle valve based on a throttle opening degree correction value learned from a difference of the actual opening degree and the predetermined opening degree. The ECU obtains an actual opening degree of the intake valve similarly to the above, and performs correction control of the intake valve based on an intake opening degree correction value learned by the difference between the actual opening degree and the predetermined opening degree.

摘要: A method, device and system for detecting and counteracting a runaway condition in a diesel engine system. The diesel engine system includes an inlet for supplying combustion air to a diesel engine, and an exhaust for relieving the diesel engine from exhaust gas. The diesel engine system further includes an exhaust gas recirculation system for selectively allowing exhaust gas from the exhaust to enter the inlet. A first gas flow path actuator is included in the exhaust gas recirculation system, and a second gas flow path actuator is included in the exhaust. The method, as performed by the system, comprises detection of an actual or potential runaway condition, and in response thereto deprives the diesel engine of oxygen. Depriving of oxygen is performed by opening the first gas flow path actuator and closing the second gas flow path actuator to cause stalling of the diesel engine. The depriving is accomplished by maximizing recirculation of exhaust gasses to the engine and increasing pressure drop over the exhaust for a first predetermined period of time.

摘要: In an internal combustion engine an air-fuel ratio is switched between at least two target values without generating torque fluctuations, while a deterioration in fuel consumption performance and exhaust performance is suppressed. When a condition for switching a combustion mode from stoichiometric combustion to lean combustion and a condition that the amount of change in a target torque is less than or equal to a predetermined value are satisfied, a target EGR rate is increased towards an EGR limit prior to switching the target air-fuel ratio. The target air-fuel ratio is maintained at the stoichiometric air-fuel ratio until the target EGR rate reaches the EGR limit, and in response to the target EGR rate reaching the EGR limit, the target air-fuel ratio is changed towards a lean air-fuel ratio.

摘要: An engine control system includes an internal combustion engine including a plurality of cylinders. An intake manifold is connected to the internal combustion engine. An exhaust manifold is connected to the internal combustion engine. A supercharger is connected to an air intake passage and the intake manifold and includes a variable speed drive. A throttle valve is disposed in the air intake passage. An exhaust passage is in connection with the exhaust manifold. A passive selective catalytic reduction catalyst system is in communication with the exhaust passage. An exhaust gas recirculation passage is in communication with the exhaust passage and the air intake passage and includes an exhaust gas recirculation valve. A controller controls the variable speed drive of the supercharger and the throttle valve and the exhaust gas recirculation valve based upon engine conditions.
