Abstract: A power system for a work vehicle includes an intake arrangement for intake of charge air; a fuel arrangement including a fuel tank storing a low carbon fuel blend; an engine configured to receive, ignite, and combust a mixture of the charge air and the low carbon fuel blend; an exhaust arrangement positioned downstream to receive exhaust from the engine during combustion of the low carbon fuel blend; at least one exhaust sensor positioned at or proximate to the exhaust arrangement; and a controller. The controller is configured to receive an initial indication of a composition of the low carbon fuel blend; implement operating parameters with feedforward adjustments based on the initial indication of the composition of the low carbon fuel blend; receive feedback from the at least one exhaust sensor regarding operational conditions; and adjust the operating parameters based on the feedback.

Abstract: A hybrid power system for a locomotive for reducing emissions. The hybrid power system may have at least one engine powered by natural gas, at least one engine powered by diesel fuel and/or a dual fuel mixture of diesel and natural gas, a drive system operatively coupled to the at least one natural gas powered engine and the at least one diesel and/or dual fuel powered engine for propelling the locomotive, and a system controller for independently controlling power output from the respective engines to the drive system based upon a power demand. The hybrid power system may utilize the natural gas powered engine(s) at low power demands, and then supplement this power with the diesel and/or dual fuel powered engine(s) at higher power demands.

Abstract: Methods and systems are provided for adjusting engine operating conditions for reduction of NOx emissions. In one example, immediately after a fuel shut-off event, in response to an oxygen content of an exhaust catalyst being higher than a threshold, manifold charge cooling may be increased by increasing the portion of fuel delivered to the engine via manifold injection relative to the portion to fuel delivered via one or more of port and direct injection. By increasing manifold cooling, NOx production may be reduced.

Abstract: An exhaust sensor 1 comprises a sensor cell 51, a voltage application circuit 61, a current detection circuit 62 and a concentration calculating part 80a. The current detection circuit detects a first current flowing through the sensor cell when fuel cut control is being performed in the internal combustion engine and a predetermined voltage is applied from the voltage application circuit to the sensor cell, and detect a second current flowing through the sensor cell when normal control is being performed in the internal combustion engine and the predetermined voltage is applied from the voltage application circuit to the sensor cell. The concentration calculating part is configured to calculate the concentration higher with respect to the second current when the first current is relatively low compared with when the first current is relatively high.

The valve controller is configured to control the open degree of the throttle valve to be larger in a low load region below a predetermined load range and in a high load region exceeding the predetermined load range than in a medium load region that is the predetermined load range.

Abstract: A control device for an exhaust gas sensor includes first means for estimating a temperature of a sensor element in accordance with impedance of a solid electrolyte, and second means for estimating the temperature of the sensor element in accordance with resistance of a heater. A first element temperature according to impedance of the sensor element in a predetermined detection timing is detected by the first means, and a second element temperature according to resistance of a heater of the sensor element in the predetermined detection timing is detected by the second means. The control device corrects the temperature of the sensor element that is estimated in accordance with heater resistance by the second means in accordance with a difference between the first element temperature and the second element temperature.
