摘要: A sealing structure having a barrier membrane, with which the overall thickness of a display device can be reduced while ensuring sufficient barrier properties against water and oxygen so as to prevent deterioration of luminous layers. The sealing structure comprises a multi-layered resin membrane 14b for sealing an electronic element section 3 disposed on a substrate 2, which is formed by alternately depositing flattening resin layers 14c and barriers layers 14d on the substrate 2. The flattening resin layers 14c are formed inside a blocking region 14a surrounding the electronic element section 3. A display device having the sealing structure, an electronic apparatus having the display device, and a fabrication method for the display device are also disclosed.

摘要: To effectively check a plurality of unit circuits, each including an electro-optical element and a control circuit. Each unit circuit U includes an OLED element and a control circuit for controlling operation of the OLED element. A check signal for tentatively driving the OLED element is input to a check terminal TPa1. A switching element is connected to a check unit circuit Ut, located at a corner of an effective region A, of the plurality of unit circuits U. The switching element is changed from an on state where the OLED element in the check unit circuit Ut is electrically isolated from the check terminal TPa1 to an off state where the OLED element in the check unit circuit Ut is electrically connected to the check terminal TPa1.

摘要: A matrix-type display control device suited to large capacity displays while achieving low power consumption operation is achieved by improving the display data transfer method. The module controller 100 of a simple matrix-type liquid crystal display comprises a low frequency oscillator 110, timing signal generator 120, standby circuit (display data refresh detection circuit) 130, high frequency oscillator 140, and a direct memory access (DMA circuit) 150. This low frequency oscillator 110 constantly generates the low frequency clock fL. Timing signal generator 120 generates the scan start signal YD required for the LCD module 200, and other signals based on the low frequency clock fL. Standby circuit 130 generates the intermittent operation start control signal {overscore (ST)} when the display data in VRAM 12 is updated as determined by monitoring the system bus 14a for communications with host MPU 10. The high frequency oscillator 140 generates the high frequency clock fH phase synchronized to the low frequency clock fL during the intermittent operation start control signal {overscore (ST)} apply period. The DMA circuit 150 reads the display data from the VRAM 12 over dedicated bus 14b by direct memory access, and transfers the display data over data bus 17 to the frame memories 252-1˜252-N of X drivers 250-1˜250-N during the intermittent operation start control signal {overscore (ST)} apply time using the high frequency clock fH.

摘要: An electronic timepiece having circuitry for automatically adjusting the time rate by comparing same to a randomly selected reference, is provided. A timing rate circuit includes an oscillator for producing a high frequency time standard signal and a divider for producing a low frequency timekeeping signal. The divider includes a plurality of series-connected divider stages, each divider stage being adapted to produce an intermediate frequency signal. A counter is provided for receiving the low frequency timekeeping signal and producing an elapsed time signal representative of time counted thereby. The instant invention is particularly characterized by an error counter coupled to one of the divider stages for receiving an intermediate frequency signal produced thereby for a randomly selected reference period. A reference counter is coupled to the counter in order to receive one of the elapsed time signals produced thereby for the randomly selected reference period and in response thereto is adapted to produce a reference count signal. A processing circuit is adapted to compare the error signal and reference count signal and in response thereto is adapted to apply a frequency adjusting signal to the timing rate circuit to regulate the timing rate of the low frequency timekeeping signal produced by the divider.
