摘要: Disclosed is a monitoring method for monitoring the film thickness of a lubricant within a lubricated bearing, the bearing having an inner ring, an outer ring and rolling elements being arranged between the inner ring and the outer ring/ The monitoring method comprises a capacitance measuring step for measuring the total capacitance of the bearing; a first calculation step for determining a film thickness of the lubricant based on the measured capacitance of the bearing and for determining whether the lubrication condition is fully flooded or starved, and when the lubrication condition is fully flooded, a second calculation step for correcting the film thickness determined in the first calculation step.

摘要: Grease comprises a base oil and a thickener. The base oil contains mineral oil and poly-α-olefin, the proportion of the mineral oil is 10% by mass to 40% by mass in 100% by mass of the base oil, and a kinematic viscosity v1 of the mineral oil at 40° C. is higher than a kinematic viscosity v2 of the poly-α-olefin at 40° C. The base oil comprises a refined mineral oil that is classified as Group III in a base oil category defined by the American Petroleum Institute, and the flash point of the refined mineral oil is 240° C. or higher. A rolling bearing contains the grease, a rolling bearing device includes a shaft supported by the rolling bearing device, and an information recording and reproducing apparatus includes the rolling bearing device.

摘要: An assembly providing a bearing, a lubricant and a contamination sensor for determining a level of contamination in the lubricant. The sensor includes an EM wave generator for generating an EM signal, and an EM sensing element arranged in contact with the lubricant. The EM sensing element receives the generated EM signal and transmits an output signal whose properties are responsive to real and imaginary parts of a complex relative permittivity of the lubricant. The output signal is received by an EM measuring device that measures first and second parameters of the output signal, which are respectively representative of the real and imaginary parts of the complex relative permittivity. The EM measuring device determines a level of water contamination in the lubricant, based on the measured first parameter alone and determines a level of metal particle contamination in the grease, based on the measured first and second parameters.

A grease includes a base oil, and a thickener, the base oil includes mineral oil and poly-α-olefin, the poly-α-olefin is higher in mass than the mineral oil, the poly-α-olefin includes poly-α-olefin higher in kinetic viscosity than the mineral oil, the kinetic viscosity of the base oil at 40° C. is in a range of 40 through 90 mm2/s, and worked penetration is in a range of 200 through 250. Further, an antifriction bearing, an antifriction bearing device, and an information recording/reproducing device use the grease.

摘要: In order to make a bearing, such as a roller bearing, insensitive to a lack of maintenance lubrication or irregular maintenance lubrication while at the same time retaining its mechanical performance, at least one bearing part of the bearing is provided at least partially with an oleophilic adhesion promoter layer. The adhesion promoter layer binds a lubricant layer of the bearing to the bearing part provided with the adhesion promoter layer. The adhesion promoter layer is bonded to an elemental-iron-free surface of a bearing part body. The removal of free iron from the bearing part body surface is carried out with nitric acid, chromate solution and/or citric acid. The treated bearing part has an oleophilic anti-corrosion adhesion promoter layer. The bearing may be used in pressure-operated devices, in particular in turbine handpieces used by dentists, because the loss of the lubricant layer during operation of the device was particularly high.
