A seal is sandwiched between the cover and the peripheral portion of the body. At least one of the cover and the peripheral portion of the body includes a corner portion and a linear portion. The corner portion has a first shape that defines one of a gap between the cover and the peripheral portion of the body and a width of the seal. The linear portion abuts on the corner portion. The linear portion has a second shape that defines the one of the gap between the cover and the peripheral portion of the body and the width of the seal. The second shape is different from the first shape of the corner portion.

The casing structure includes a casing having an opening, a cover that covers the opening of the casing, and a seal disposed between the casing and the cover. In the casing structure, the cover is openable and closable with respect to the casing, and the seal contacting the casing and the cover when the cover is closed. In the casing structure, the casing or the cover including at least one portion contained in the seal in a cross section taken in a direction the cover is opened or closed. The optical scanner includes the casing structure. In the optical scanner, the casing stores a plurality of components to be applied to an image forming apparatus, and the cover has an optical element through which light passes. The image forming apparatus includes the optical scanner.

摘要: An image forming apparatus includes an image bearer, an exposure device, a drive device, a cleaning body, and an exposure device holder. The exposure device is disposed on a motion trajectory between an exposure position and a retracted position and emits light to the image bearer via a lens having a lens surface at the exposure position. The drive device causes the exposure device to move between the exposure position and the retracted position. The cleaning body disposed on the motion trajectory of the exposure device tilts a cleaning surface when contacting with the lens surface of the exposure device. The exposure device holder supports the exposure device while changing an attitude of the exposure device such that the lens surface remains in contact with the cleaning surface of the cleaning body when the exposure device moves from the retracted position to the exposure position.

摘要: An image forming apparatus includes a latent image bearer, a latent image writing device, a developing device, a conveyance unit to convey a recording medium, a transfer device, a length data acquisition unit to obtain a length of the recording medium in a conveyance direction of the recording medium, an image forming processor to form a test pattern, and a light quantity correction calculator that acquires image density data of the test pattern and calculates a light quantity correction value to correct a light quantity. The image forming processor sets a position of the test pattern on the recording medium in the conveyance direction of the recording medium and a length of the test pattern in the conveyance direction of the recording medium based on the length of the recording medium in the conveyance direction of the recording medium obtained by the length data acquisition unit.
