摘要： Tertiary amines are prepared by reacting a long-chain olefin with carbon monoxide, hydrogen, and a primary or secondary amine in the presence of a catalyst composed of a rhodium- and/or ruthenium-containing compound using a specific solvent, followed by phase separation of the reaction product. This process facilitates recovery and re-use of the expensive catalysts.

摘要： An apparatus for an electric furnace capable of effecting electrode connection and refractory lining repairs independently of each other. Mounted on a common supporting member are an electrode connecting device for suspending a new electrode and a refractory lining repairing device having a revolvable nozzle for blowing the refractory lining patching mixture against the eroded cavities in the lining in such a way that they may be traversed along the supporting member independently of each other. The new electrode suspended by the electrode connecting device is rotated whle being lowered so as to be screwed into the consumed electrode. The eroded refractory lining is repaired with the refractory lining repairing device.

摘要： A polycyclic diol is produced by a hydroformylation of a polycyclic bridged ring olefinic compound having another double bond, formyl or methylol group, in the presence of a cobalt compound and a phosphine as a catalyst in the presence of a saturated hydrocarbon or aromatic hydrocarbon.Polycyclic diols such as tricyclodecanedimethylol are useful for hardeners for non-solvent type lacquers polyurethanes having heat resistant and chemical resistance or epoxy resins.

摘要： A shield tunneling machine in which a segment holding member is movable through a lifting beam in the radial direction of a shield frame so that the segment holding member holds a segment and sets it at a predetermined position in the circumferential direction of a tunnel within the shield frame; and an end balancer is pivotably connected to a base or root balancer which in turn is slidably mounted on the lifting beam so that the segment held by the segment holding member is correctly set at a predetermined position while the posture of the segment is suitably adjusted, whereby the erection and assembly of segments can be easily accomplished.
