    摘要: A backlight illumination system for illuminating a large area with light of a uniform color has a set of a pre-determined number of light emitters arranged along a straight line. The set is divided in a plurality of subsets, each subset including at least two light emitters. Each subset comprises light emitters with substantially the same light-emission color point, the respective subsets having color points different from each other. As a first step, the light emitters of the subset with a smallest number of light emitters are assigned to respective substantially equidistant positions. The light emitters of the set are assigned to the respective positions by iteratively starting with the subset with the smallest number of light emitters, assigning the light emitters of the subset to substantially equidistant positions which are not yet occupied. The backlight illumination system according to the invention has a uniform light and color distribution.

    摘要: The present invention relates to a device for determining characteristics of a lighting unit, comprising at least two flux sensor each having different wavelength characteristics and being arranged to measure light emitted from the lighting unit, yielding two measurements, and means for calculating a dominant wavelength and a real flux for the lighting unit based on the measurements and the sensors' wavelength characteristics. The present invention provides for a direct calculation of dominant wavelength and real flux without the need for predefined data about the light source or without performing additional measurements such as using temperature measurements. The present invention also relates to a system using such a device, and a corresponding method for determining characteristics of a lighting unit.

    摘要: Proposed is a lighting module 100 and an illumination device 200 comprising such a module. The lighting module comprises an array of LEDs 120 mounted on a substrate 110 and an optical structure 130 encompassing the LED array for approximating in operation the LED array as a single homogeneous light source. The optical structure comprises an optical element 140 arranged to provide a luminous intensity profile as a function of a deviation angle a which is substantially constant between −αmax and αmax, wherein αmax is a maximum deviation angle provided by the optical element and substantially zero at angles outside that range. This is especially advantageous for optimizing the trade off between creating a single homogenous light source and maintaining the entendue of the light source. An additional advantage of the optical element 140 is that, except for fresnel reflections on both surfaces, it has no backscattering like a diffuser has, which results in a very low optical loss.
