    摘要: This invention is a tool for plunge cutting comprising a motor, a transmission connected to the motor and a blade assembly connected to the transmission, wherein the blades move in an oppositely reciprocating and sliding manner to provide plunge cuts of variable depth with closed ends and a continuous perimeter. The tool of the invention may be held and operated with one hand. The invention is designed to be held in juxtaposition to the area to be cut, and the invention further optionally includes a novel blade wherein the blades have opposite first and second sides, wherein the first side is completely flat, allowing it to slide unobstructed against the first side of the other blade; and wherein alternating teeth, including both end teeth, are straight and not bent or set; and wherein alternating even teeth are bent toward the second side of the blade; and wherein one-half of the teeth point forward and the other half of the teeth point aft; and wherein the blade teeth follow an arc; and wherein the front and aft edges of the blade are shaped to form a gullet.

    摘要: A package for retaining and displaying a plurality of cylindrical items in separated compartments as formed from a pair of compatibly configured plastic clam shells secured to one another. The plastic clam shells define a front package portion having a plurality of cylindrical item receptacles and a rear package portion having another plurality of cylindrical item receptacles. The front and rear package portions are interconnected to permit predetermined movement of the front and rear package portions relative to one another between a first display position in which the front and rear package portions are disposed in generally superimposed, adjacent relation to one another and a second access position in which the front and rear package portions are substantially displaced from one another to permit ready access to the cylindrical items retained in the item receptacles.

    摘要: Disclosed herein is a pharmacophore model for inhibiting Botulinum neurotoxin A metalloprotease activity which comprises a first plane A, a second plane B, a first hydrophobic moiety C, a second hydrophobic moiety D and a positive ionizable substituent E. The pharmacophore model may further comprise a heteroatom in the first plane A. In some embodiments, the distance between the center of the first plane A and the center of the second plane B is about 6.5 to about 9.5 Å. In some embodiments, the distance between the center of the first hydrophobic moiety C and the center of the second hydrophobic moiety D is about 8.0 to about 16.0 Å. In some embodiments, the distance between the center of the first plane to the center of the first hydrophobic moiety C is about 3.0 to about 5.0 Å. In some embodiments, the distance between the center of the second plane to the center of the second hydrophobic moiety C is about 3.0 to about 5.0 Å. In some embodiments, the distance between the center of the first plane to the center of the positive ionizable substituent is about 6.5 to about 9.5 Å.

    摘要: In this application is described substrates for high-throughput assays of clostridial neurotoxin proteolytic activities. Two types of substrates are described for use in assays for the proteolytic activities of clostridial neurotoxins: (1) modified peptides or proteins that can serve as FRET substrates and (2) modified peptides or proteins that can serve as immobilized substrates. In both types a fluorescent molecules is present in the substrate, eliminating the requirement for the addition of a fluorigenic reagent. The assays described can be readily adapted for use in automated or robotic systems.
