The present invention is a device for conveniently collecting and storing liquid samples, as well as applying an aliquot of the sample to a test device, such as a lateral flow immunoassay. The present invention comprises an absorbent swab and a dropper container containing an expression means for expressing the collected sample from the swab. After the collected sample has been expressed into the reservoir of the device, the device is capped. The device can be inverted over a test device, the sides of the reservoir squeezed and an aliquot of the sample applied, in a drop-wise manner, to the sample application well of the test device. The present invention is particularly useful for collecting viscous samples, such as saliva or oral fluid, in a drug of abuse testing setting.

In particular, the disclosure describes improvements in collection device design that provide a simple, non-invasive, non-hazardous method of collecting samples from a subject or patient, especially liquid samples such as saliva, oral fluid and urine. The collected sample can be stored in the disclosed device and the device can be used to apply, in a drop-wise manner, an aliquot of the sample directly to a test device.

The present invention provides an orthodontic process phased into two or more sub-processes for repositioning a patient's teeth. In each sub-process, a complete treatment plan is established, but not all (i.e. only some) appliances in the plan are fabricated to move the teeth, out of the expectation that teeth movement may not completely follow the full course as planned. The entire orthodontic process is thus featured with dynamic planning and incremental implementation of the plans, to address ever-changing treatment profile.

A method and interactive computer system for dental implant treatment planning, surgical guide design and manufacturing. In the heart of the method is a fully associative workflow integrating image processing, treatment planning, surgical kit configuration and surgical guide CAD/CAM in one single computer system. In this workflow, any changes of image processing parameters and implant information in the earlier stage are automatically propagated to the downstream. This characteristic is referred as associativity. The software aspect of the system is built upon this concept and its corresponding data model. This invention also includes an image processing and geometric modeling approach that is characterized as design for manufacturability and applicability. The integration of treatment planning and surgical guide CAD is further on integrated with manufacturing equipment to constitute a complete CAD/CAM solution, which is also fully associative.
