摘要: An image display apparatus is provided which is capable of suppressing generation of cracks to be caused by a load applied to a partition disposed between an anode panel and a cathode panel. The partition for retaining a predetermined distance between back and front substrates by using bonding material is constituted of a partition main body and an electric conducting layer coated on the outer peripheral surface of the partition main body. The partition main body has curved portions at the corners of upper and lower end portions, the curved portions contacting the back and front substrates. It is possible to prevent damages of an electrode to be caused by a mechanical load applied to cathode and anode panels having electrodes on opposing surfaces.

摘要: It is an object to provide an electric conductive, Pb-free bonding material for securing spacers for display panels of display devices. The electric conductive bonding material as the first aspect of the present invention contains a V2O5-based glass as a main component, and particles of a metal selected from the group consisting of Pt, Pd, Cr, Ni, Al, Si, Zn, Au and Fe—Ni alloy, or of one or more species of electric conductive ceramics which can be selected from the group consisting of TiC, SiC, WC, ZnO, Fe2O3, FeO, Fe3O4, AgV7O18 and Ag2V4O11 at 10 to 50% by volume. The electric conductive bonding material as the second aspect of the present invention contains V2O5 at 55 to 75%, P2O5 at 15 to 30%, BaO at 0 to 25% Sb2O3 at 0 to 15% (total content of BaO and Sb2O3 adjusted at 5% or more), and GeO2 at 5 to 20% or Ag2O at 3 to 10%, all percentages by mass.

摘要: It is an object of the present invention to provide a spacer which has an adequate Young's modulus for a spacer used in an image display panel and allows free adjustment of an electric resistance value, and an image display panel using the spacer. The spacer SPC holds a gap between a back panel PNL1 including a signal line CL, a scanning line GL, and an electronic source ELS provided for the main surface of a back substrate SUB1, and a front panel PNL2 including a fluorescent material PH, a black matrix BM, and an anode AD provided for the main surface of a front substrate SUB2. The spacer comprises phosphate glass including the same transition metal element with different valences. For electrical conduction, the included same transition metal element with different valences allows the use of hopping conduction between transition metal atoms with different valences to perform adjustment of electric resistance relatively easily. The transition metal element is at least one of vanadium (V), tungsten (W), molybdenum (Mo), niobium (Nb), and iron (Fe).

摘要: It is an object of the present invention to provide a spacer which has an adequate Young's modulus for a spacer used in an image display panel and allows free adjustment of an electric resistance value, and an image display panel using the spacer. The spacer SPC holds a gap between a back panel PNL1 including a signal line CL, a scanning line GL, and an electronic source ELS provided for the main surface of a back substrate SUB1, and a front panel PNL2 including a fluorescent material PH, a black matrix BM, and an anode AD provided for the main surface of a front substrate SUB2. The spacer comprises phosphate glass including the same transition metal element with different valences. For electrical conduction, the included same transition metal element with different valences allows the use of hopping conduction between transition metal atoms with different valences to perform adjustment of electric resistance relatively easily. The transition metal element is at least one of vanadium (V), tungsten (W), molybdenum (Mo), niobium (Nb), and iron (Fe).

摘要: The seal frame MFL interposed between the cathode panel PNL1 and the anode panel PNL2 along their peripheral portion is integrally formed with curved recesses CUV, concave in cross section, in its bonding surfaces in contact with the cathode panel PNL1 and the anode panel PNL2. This construction keeps the frit glass FG within the recesses CUV, preventing it from being squeezed out in the widthwise direction of the seal frame MFL. This in turn makes less likely the formation of penetrating holes in the frit glass, which will lead to a leakage. Thus, an airtightness improves, maintaining the vacuum level in the hermetically enclosed space, preventing a vacuum leakage caused by improper bonding between the two substrates, and realizing a highly reliable image display apparatus.

摘要: The purpose of the invention is to improve the mass productivity of display devices by using a glass substrate that prevents the degradation of an electrode caused by glass of the display device. The present invention provides a flat panel display device containing at least two substrates and a light emitting part provided between the two substrates, wherein at least one substrate of the two substrates contains SiO2 as a main component and contains 1% to 10% by weight of at least one type selected from the group consisting of La, Y, Gd, Yb, and Lu in terms of oxides, 5% to 25% by weight of R2O (R denotes one or more types selected from a group consisting of Li, K, Cs, and Rb), and 8% to 20% by weight of Al2O3, and wherein the surface electric resistance at 350° C. of the glass material is higher than 1×108 (Ω/square).

摘要: A spacer according to the present invention for use in a flat panel display, which includes a cathode substrate with a cold cathode electron emitting device formed thereon, an anode substrate with a phosphor formed thereon, and a spacer disposed between the cathode and anode substrates, comprises a base made of a conductive glass, and a conductive crystallized glass layer on a surface of the base. The spacer is more excellent in antistatic characteristics than conventional spacers having a conducting layer on the surface of an insulating glass base. A flat panel display according to the present invention using the spacers permits a higher voltage to be applied, thus increasing image quality.
