    摘要： An actuator includes a spirally rolled cylindrical sheet body. The sheet body is formed by attaching an electrode on each side of a dielectric elastomer layer. When a voltage is applied to the electrodes, the sheet body is contracted along the direction of its thickness, and expanded in directions perpendicular to its thickness. The actuator is actuated by applying a voltage to the electrodes and stopping the voltage application, so that the cylindrical sheet body is extended and contracted along the direction of the axis. The material forming the dielectric elastomer layer has a low strain region, where the value of a strain based on a stress acting on the dielectric elastomer layer varies from zero to a value that is greater than and close to zero, and a high strain region, where the value of the strain is greater than that in the low strain region. The Young's modulus in the low strain region is less than the Young's modulus in the high strain region.

    摘要： A method of folding together a vehicle side curtain airbag is provided that includes bending a base section of an extended air bag toward the outboard side of the vehicle and fully over onto a middle section of the air bag located directly above the base section. The adjacent base and middle sections are then rolled, as a group, by first moving a crease line between the base and middle sections toward the outboard side of the vehicle, then curling the crease line back toward the unrolled portion of the base and middle sections and then rolling the remainder of the unrolled portion of the base and middle sections. A top section of the airbag is collapsed in a pleated manner.

    摘要： A numerical control unit that facilitates centralized management of alarm information from a variety of elements in a machine tool cabinet. A relay that outputs a malfunction alarm signal, a battery that outputs a low voltage alarm signal, a fan motor that outputs an alarm signal indicating rotation stop or a drop in rpm and a status signal indicating the rpm, and a thermometer or the like that outputs a status signal expressing ambient temperature measurements are installed in a power managing unit in a control unit of the machine tool. Each element is equipped with a wireless communications tag that temporarily stores the alarm signal/status signal and emits a wireless signal. The numerical control unit receives the wireless signal through a receiving device, and displays information about the cause (originating location) of the alarm and activates a buzzer (or a speaker) when an alarm occurs. Status information is displayed continuously.
