摘要： A display control device includes: a transparent color information storage unit that stores transparent color information; a run-length counter that calculates a run-length specifying the number of consecutive pixels having the same color information; a combination calculation unit that combines the image data for the plurality of display layers; and a combined image display unit that outputs the combined image data to a display device. If the color information for a total of run-length pixels calculated by the run-length counter is a transparent color, the combination calculation unit performs combination by ignoring the image data for the total number run-length of consecutive pixels.

摘要： A computer system includes a plurality of processors, a shared resource being used by the processors, and a storage unit in which management information corresponding to the shared resource is stored. The management information includes a semaphore for each OS managing a task which runs on the processors, a queue in which information for specifying a processor which has requested acquisition of the shared resource is stored in series, and a resource counter indicating a remaining number of the shared resources which can be acquired. Each of the processors includes a counter obtaining section that obtains a value of the resource counter, an acquisition decision-making section that makes a decision as to whether or not the shared resource can be acquired, and a resource acquiring section that stores information for specifying the processor in the queue if decided that it can not be acquired.

摘要： In a communication type navigation system that downloads maps, the present invention provides a map data transmission method that can reduce time before guiding is started. A map provision server searches for a traveling route connecting a starting place corresponding to current position information received from an on-vehicle terminal and a destination corresponding to destination information. The server generates guidance information for guiding the vehicle along the searched traveling route and generates a route vicinity map along the traveling route. The server generates traveling route information comprising the searched traveling route and the guidance information, and plural map information blocks into which the route vicinity map containing map information is divided along the traveling route, assigns transmission priority levels to the map information blocks, and transmits the map information blocks according to the transmission priority levels after transmitting the traveling route information.

摘要： The invention provides an input support method and apparatus having the following merits in a communication-type navigation system. That is, when at least one character relevant to, for example, a destination is inputted from a navigation apparatus to make a search in a server system, it is possible to minimize time spent in waiting for a response from the server system. Accordingly, communication time is shortened, and a pleasant environment for input operation is realized by making the most of information inputted by a user. In the input support method in a communication-type navigation system, a navigation apparatus (1) and a server system (4) are connected via a communication network (3). The input support method is comprised of the following steps: a first step of obtaining candidate characters for next input and the number of candidates pertaining to an input character string from the server system (4) via the communication network (3), and storing them into a cache memory (14) provided in the navigation apparatus (1); a second step of, at least when an input character string is updated at the navigation apparatus, searching the cache memory for candidate characters following the updated input character string and the number of candidates pertaining to the updated input character string; and a third step of, when the candidate characters following the updated input character string and the number of candidates pertaining to the updated character string have not been stored in the cache memory as yet, transmitting the updated input character string to the server system.
