    摘要: A route information supply system comprises a reception module which receives information on a current position and a destination from a terminal device by communication, a map data storage module storing at least detailed map data and summary map data, a traffic information storage module which stores traffic information, a route search module which searches for a guidance route based on the current position and the destination, a map information generation module which generates map information on an area containing the searched route by use of the map data storage module, and an output module which outputs the generated map information to the terminal device. When an event satisfying a prescribed condition regarding the traffic information exists in the area, the map information generation module generates map information on an area in the vicinity of a point where the event has occurred by use of the detailed map data.

    摘要: In a communication type navigation system that downloads maps, the present invention provides a map data transmission method that can reduce time before guiding is started. A map provision server searches for a traveling route connecting a starting place corresponding to current position information received from an on-vehicle terminal and a destination corresponding to destination information. The server generates guidance information for guiding the vehicle along the searched traveling route and generates a route vicinity map along the traveling route. The server generates traveling route information comprising the searched traveling route and the guidance information, and plural map information blocks into which the route vicinity map containing map information is divided along the traveling route, assigns transmission priority levels to the map information blocks, and transmits the map information blocks according to the transmission priority levels after transmitting the traveling route information.

A traffic-volume prediction device includes a simple-network creation device that makes a simple network connecting principal intersections extracted from travelling loci in the collected probe data, a model creation device that determines a utility between the principal intersections based on the data of the travelling loci and calculates a selection probability for each principal intersection based on the utility, and a traffic-volume assignment device that distributes a traffic volume to the routes between the principal intersections according to the selection probability and uses the traffic volume for each route candidate to be a traffic demand prediction object.

A traffic-volume prediction device according to the invention includes a simple-network creation device (130) that makes a simple network connecting principal intersections extracted from travelling loci in the collected probe data, a model creation device (140) that determines a utility between the principal intersections based on the data of the travelling loci and calculates a selection probability for each principal intersection based on the utility, and a traffic-volume assignment device (160) that distributes a traffic volume to the routes between the principal intersections according to the selection probability and thereby uses it as the traffic volume for each route candidate to be a traffic demand prediction object.
