    摘要: A battery system includes a battery unit in which battery arms are connected in parallel, and a charge/discharge control device that controls charge/discharge of the battery unit. Each of the battery arms includes: a battery composed of one or more battery cells connected in series; a switch connected in series to the battery; and a battery monitoring device that, in a case of having detected abnormality of the battery, opens the switch to thereby isolate the battery arm including the abnormal battery, and sends a switch opening signal indicating that the switch has been opened to the charge/discharge control device. The charge/discharge control device performs a control to reduce a charge/discharge current or charge/discharge power of the battery unit when the switch opening signal is sent from the battery monitoring device of the battery unit to the charge/discharge control device.

    摘要: A battery device includes electric cells connected in series, resistors connected to respective electrodes of the electric cells, discharge switches for discharging voltages between the respective electrodes of each of the battery cells via the resistors, and a voltage detection and control circuit. When a detection voltage when the discharge switch is closed and not disconnected is defined as V, a detection voltage when a discharge switch is closed and disconnected is defined as VS, and a detection voltage when a discharge switch is not closed and not disconnected is defined as VE, the voltage detection and control circuit arranges a relationship between a disconnect determination voltage VSL and a discharge malfunction determination voltage VSH so as to be VE>VSH>V>VSL>V. The battery device includes a method of making a malfunction detection signal for determining the battery device as a malfunction when at least one of voltages of the electric cells detected when closing the discharge switch is determined to be the discharge malfunction determination voltage VSH or more, or the disconnect determination voltage VSL or less.

    摘要: A variable wavelength light source using a semiconductor laser element suitable for use in optical communications is provided. Light emitted from one end surface of the semiconductor laser element is led along a path through a light wavefront converting element (e.g., a Fresnel lens) and a spatial light modulating element which are both formed in a waveguide layer, to a diffraction grating which is also formed in the waveguide layer. Light reflected from the diffraction grating is caused to travel back along the same path but in the opposite direction and to impinge on the semiconductor laser element. Wavelength selection of by the spatial light modulating element and the diffraction grating is utilized for generating and maintaining oscillation at a selected wavelength in the laser element. The wavelength of light is selected by selecting the wavelength of a surface acoustic wave generated the spatial light modulating element, i.e., by changing the frequency of a high frequency electrical signal applied to the modulating element.

    摘要: A driving mechanism for driving a moving handrail of an escalator and the like. The driving mechanism include driving rollers and guiding rollers which are disposed to confront with each other through the moving handrail interposed therebetween. The driving rollers are secured to a movable plate, while the guiding rollers are attached to fixed plates. The movable plate is adapted to be moved in the direction perpendicular to the moving handrail, while the fixed plates are firmly secured to a part of a truss frame which supports the escalator. The movable plate carries a sprocket by means of which the driving rollers are rotated to drive the moving handrail. The sprocket itself is adapted to be driven by a chain going therearound. The vertical component of the tensile force residing in the chain acts to press the driving rollers onto the moving handrail.

    摘要: A photo film cassette includes a spool core (13) on which photo film is wound in a form of a roll. A cassette shell (3, 4) contains the spool core in rotatable fashion. In each of a pair of disks (16, 17), a bearing hole (16a, 17a) is formed. The disks are secured to first and second ends of the spool core, and regulate edges of the photo film. To produce at least one kind of disk, a continuous sheet (27, 78, 88, 162, 171, 215) of thermoplastic synthetic resin is partially masked with a mask plate (48, 87, 160, 161, 170). A portion of the sheet emerging out of the mask plate is heated at temperature higher than a softening point of the sheet. The emerging portion is subjected to vacuum/air-pressure forming, so as to form a disk-like portion (20) in the sheet. The bearing hole and a contour of the disks is cut in the disk-like portion, to produce the disks.
