摘要: The subject invention pertains to a method for the production of an array of molecules immobilised on a substrate, comprising the deposition of the molecules from a micropipette containing them, onto the substrate, in a liquid environment, wherein the distance of the micropipette from the substrate is controlled in response to the ion current in the liquid. This method is particularly suitable for the deposition of biological molecules. The subject invention also pertains to an array of biological molecules deposited on a substrate.

摘要: Provided is a capsule having a shell of material that is a supramolecular cross-linked network. The network is formed from a host-guest complexation of cucurbituril (the host) and one or more building blocks comprising suitable guest functionality. The complex non-covalently crosslinks the building block and/or non-covalently links the building block to another building block thereby forming the supramolecular cross-linked network. The capsules are obtained or obtainable by the complexation of a composition comprising cucurbituril and one or more building blocks having suitable cucurbituril guest functionality thereby to form a supramolecular cross-linked network.

摘要: Systems that employ microdroplets are used in embodiments for Microdroplet Electrospray Ionisation Mass Spectrometry (ESI MS). Thus, a method of detecting an analyte includes providing an oil composition comprising oil and an aqueous microdroplet comprising the analyte, the oil composition comprising a surfactant to stabilise the aqueous microdroplet in the oil composition; and performing ionisation mass spectrometry analysis of the oil composition.

摘要: An isolated DNA molecule encoding a protein from a plant, which protein has pantothenate synthetase activity; a non-naturally occuring chimeric gene comprising a promoter operably linked to a DNA molecule encoding a protein from a plant having pantothenate synthetase activity; a recombinant vector comprising the chimeric gene wherein the vector is capable of being stably transformed into host cell, a host cell stably transformed with a vector wherein the host cell is capable of expressing the DNA molecule; a method for assaying a protein having pantothenate synthetase activity; the use as herbicides of compounds which inhibit pantothenate synthetase, and a herbicidal composition, comprising one or more active ingredients which show significant pantothenate synthetase inhibition in an assay, are disclosed. The invention relates to plant enzymatic activity, and aspects therefor, involved in the biosynthesis of coenzyme A. The invention particularly relates to the plant enzyme known either as pantoate B-alanine ligase, pantoate activating enzyme or pantothenate synthetase (PS).
