摘要: A method for estimating a property of an earth formation includes: obtaining a sample of rock; scanning the sample to determine internal rock damage; measuring a deformation parameter of the sample; constructing a mathematical model of the sample that replicates the determined and measured internal rock damage distribution; simulating the one or more tests using the mathematical model; obtaining a rock deformation parameter using the one or more simulated tests corresponding to the measured rock deformation parameter; comparing the rock deformation parameter obtained from the one or more simulated tests to the corresponding measured rock deformation parameter; adjusting parameters of the mathematical model based upon the rock parameter obtained from simulation not being within a selected range of the measured rock parameter; and providing the mathematical model as a verified mathematical model based upon the rock parameter obtained from simulation being within a selected range of the measured rock parameter.

摘要: A disintegrable polymer composite comprises: a polymer component comprising one or more of the following: a cured cyanate ester; a crosslinked unsaturated polyester; or a crosslinked vinyl ester resin; and dissolvable glass comprising about 55 to about 80 wt. % of SiO2, 0 to about 35 wt. % of Na2O, 0 to about 35 wt. % of K2O, 0 to about 20 wt. % of CaO, 0 to about 10 wt. % of MgO, provided that the sum of the weights of Na2O and K2O is about 20 wt. % to about 40 wt. %, wherein each weight percent is based on the total weight of the dissolvable glass.

摘要: A method for imaging an earth formation includes estimating an apparent resistivity (AR) value and an apparent distance to a bedding plane (AD2B) value for each of a plurality of samples derived from measurements of a time-dependent transient electromagnetic signal, estimating an inversion-based resistivity value (IB-R) and an inversion-based distance to a bedding plane (IB-D2B) value at a first sample of each consecutive depth interval, wherein each depth interval includes a plurality of consecutive samples, and determining a difference between apparent values and the corresponding inversion-based values. The method further includes generating an image of the earth formation using the AR and AD2B values for the entire interval if the difference is less than a threshold value and generating an image of the earth formation using IB-R and IB-D2B values for the entire interval if the difference is greater than the threshold value.

摘要: A splice connects a lower coiled tubing segment containing a lower power cable segment to an upper coiled tubing segment containing an upper power cable segment. The splice has a lower terminal electrically connecting together upper ends of lower power conductors. An upper terminal electrically connects together lower ends of upper power conductors. An electrical intermediate connector has an upper end that stabs into engagement with the upper electrical terminal and a lower end that stabs into engagement with the lower electrical terminal. A load supporting member surrounds the intermediate connector and joins to upper and lower ends, respectively, of the lower coiled tubing segment and the upper coiled tubing segment.

摘要: A well pump assembly has a barrel, a standing valve at an upper end of a standing valve chamber, and a plunger. A travelling valve admits well fluid into the barrel during a fill stroke. The travelling valve closes during a power stroke so that the plunger pushes well fluid from the barrel into the standing valve chamber. A gas release port extends from the standing valve chamber to the exterior of the pump assembly. A check valve in the gas release port has an outward flow blocking position for blocking liquid well fluid in the standing valve chamber from exiting through the gas release port while the plunger is in the power stroke. The cheek valve has a gas release position that enables gas present in the standing valve chamber to flow out the gas release port while the plunger is in the power stroke.

摘要: The present disclosure relates to borehole logging methods and apparatuses for estimating formation properties using nuclear radiation, particularly an apparatus and method for estimating amounts of silicon and/or oxygen in the formation. The method may include using nuclear radiation information from at least one nuclear radiation detector to estimate at least one parameter of interest. The method may include separating a gross nuclear radiation count into separate nuclear radiation components. The method may also include reducing an error in the estimated formation properties due to speed variations of a nuclear radiation source that activates the silicon and oxygen in the formation. The apparatus may include at least one nuclear radiation detector. The apparatuses may include an information processing device to perform the methods.
