    摘要: Colored tire stocks having improved abrasion resistance, color and color stability as compared to conventional colored tire stocks such as white sidewall stocks are provided. The colored tire stocks of the invention comprise crosslinked colored rubber compositions containing from 10 to 90% of ionic crosslinks and from 90 to 10% of free radical induced covalent crosslinks. These colored tire stocks may be utilized as functional tire stocks such as colored sidewall stocks (e.g. white sidewalls) or as decorative tire stocks such as raised colored letters (e.g. raised white letters) which identify the tire manufacturer.

A rigid ring is placed inside a polymeric boot which is equipped with an upper and lower flange. The ring is positioned so that an upper edge fits into the boot upper flange. The ring/boot assembly is then located on the membrane surrounding the projecting element. The ring is sealed to the membrane with an adhesive and a pourable waterproof sealant fills the area within the ring, bonding to the inside surface of the ring, the boot upper flange, the exterior surface of the projecting element, and the membrane.

    摘要: An air spring having a flexible sleeve is mounted between a pair of movable support components to maintain the components in a spaced relationship. The flexible sleeve has a hollow interior which forms an internal fluid chamber. A connector is mounted in one end of the sleeve and receives a tube for controlling the flow of fluid into and out of the chamber. The connector has a main body molded into the sleeve end and a collet member telescopically rotatably mounted in a hollow interior of the main body. The collet member has a plurality of flexible fingers which grip the end of a tube when inserted therein and have one-way barbs which grip to tube to prevent it from being pulled out once it is inserted within the connector. An elastomeric seal is mounted within the body to provide a fluid seal between the tube and body interior.

    摘要: A tire grinding apparatus includes at least one support arm pivotally connected to a base. A pair of grinding wheels are rotatably carried by the support arm and are adapted to engage the outer surface of a tire. The grinding wheels are disposed such that one of the grinding wheels is a leading grinding wheel and the other is a trailing grinding wheel. The grinding wheels rotate in opposite directions. The grinding wheels are partially disposed in a hood that is in fluid communication with a vacuum source. A source of pressurized air is in fluid communication with a blower head that is disposed between the grinding wheels such that it directs pressurized air against the surface of the tire being ground. The pressurized air removes dust from the tread grooves and sipes of the tire where it is collected by the hood and removed from the hood from the vacuum system. The position of the trailing wheel is adjustable with respect to the leading grinding wheel and the support arm. The position of the support arm is adjustable with respect to the tire. The tire grinding apparatus provides an improved surface finish by utilizing the two grinding wheels and removes a substantial amount of the dust from the tread groves in sipes of the tire.
