摘要: A grinding apparatus including a chuck table for holding a wafer, a grinding unit having a spindle for rotating a grinding wheel, an inclination adjusting unit for adjusting the inclination of the rotation axis of the chuck table with respect to the rotation axis of the spindle, a touch panel, and a control portion. The control portion is adapted to compare the information regarding the target sectional shape input into a target shape input field with the information regarding the present sectional shape input into a present shape input field and then control the inclination adjusting unit to change the inclination of the rotation axis of the chuck table so that the wafer is ground to obtain the target sectional shape of the wafer.

摘要: A sculptured drum for a retread process that has an inner radial section with a central axis that extends in an axial direction. The sculptured drum has a plurality of support members that extend outward from a drum outer surface in a radial direction and that are located outward from the inner radial section in the radial direction. A tread that has a plurality of grooves is supported by the sculptured drum during a brushing process and pass across the sculptured drum such that some but not all of the grooves have one of the support members disposed therein. The support members when disposed within the grooves do not completely fill the grooves, and when disposed within the grooves engage a lower surface of the tread.

摘要: A variable radius sanding block for sanding curved surfaces. The variable radius sanding block includes a base member and a plurality of variably sized radius patches. The base member is sized and proportioned to allow radius patches of varying size to be inserted, such that each of the radius patches will change the curvature of the sanding block upon insertion. The base member also having a folded flexible internal structure and a pair of flexible arms that facilitate insertion of radius patches of varying size. The radius patch includes a pair of grooves that receive the flexible arms of the base member and secure the base member to the radius patch.

摘要: The present invention relates to a sheet for mounting a polishing workpiece. The sheet comprises a substrate and a surface layer. The substrate has a surface. The surface layer is located on the surface of the substrate, with no hole structure existing in the interior thereof, and has a plurality of through holes. Accordingly, when the polishing workpiece contacts the surface layer, the air therebetween is vented to the substrate via the through holes and then is easily vented out, without the phenomenon of air wrapping, which increases the adsorption force between the polishing workpiece and the sheet, thereby improving the polishing effect of the polishing workpiece.

摘要: A method for directional force correction of pneumatic tires that simultaneously corrects radial and tangential force exerted by the tire. The method allows for the correction of tangential force regardless of the rotational direction of the tire. This invention accomplishes this end through an improved force correction technique, wherein at least two rotary grinders are employed. In the inventive method, the rotational direction of one grinder is reversed in relation to the rotational direction of the other grinder(s). Therefore, at least one grinder will engage the tire in an “up-grinding” manner, and at least one grinder will engage the tire in a “down-grinding” manner. The result is that across the width of the tire's tread surface, some tread blocks will have a “heel-to-toe” appearance, while others will appear “toe-to-heel.” The effect is that, no matter what direction the tire is rotating while in use on an automobile, tangential force variation has been reduced.

摘要: An apparatus and method for on-site dressing and truing of rubber-covered cylinders mounted within sanding machines. The grinding apparatus comprises a base having a pneumatic cylinder mounted thereon for imparting oscillating or reciprocating movement to an abrasive plate which extends back and forth along the length of the rubber-covered cylinder during the dressing and truing procedure. The grinding apparatus removes the necessary amount of rubber compound from the rubber-covered cylinder upon which it acts until the rubber-covered cylinder is perfectly round, and the grinding apparatus is then removed from the sanding machine. In this fashion, the apparatus and method of the invention provide for on-site dressing and truing of rubber-covered cylinders of sanding machines without the necessity for conventional removal of the rubber-covered cylinders for dressing and truing.

摘要: An apparatus for producing driving belts is improved with regard to an increased production speed, reduced energy requirements for each belt produced, and increased environmental compatibility. A semifinished belt is clamped on two rolls and is provided with a profile by means of a grinding tool containing an abrasive. The grinding tool is cooled internally whereby dry grinding can be effected, as opposed to previous wet grinding processes and the inherent disadvantages thereof.

摘要: An improved apparatus and method are provided for cutting a tire surface to remove selected portions of rubber from the tire surface while the tire is rotating. The apparatus and method are especially useful in removing tread material from the tire to improve the force variation and runout characteristics of the tire. The material is removed by a cutting device such as a grinding wheel and a positioning device which holds the cutting device in a fixed cutting position for an incremental period of time while a corresponding incremental segment of the tire circumference, for instance a segment equal to 1/100 of the circumference (3.6.degree.), passes by the cutter. A sensing device measures a characteristic of the tire, such as its radial forced variation, and radial run-out of the tire is also measured. Based on these measurements, a computing device determines the amount of material to be removed from each incremental segment of the tire circumference and controls the positioning device so that the cutter is located in the correct position for removing the desired amount of material from each incremental segment of the tire circumference.

摘要: Small-diameter vitreous cylinders, for example glass tubes, are maintained under lateral (radial) compression and are precision rolled through grinding wheels, thus fully separating the cylinders into as many cylindrical components as desired. The rolling is effected by maintaining several glass cylinders in laterally-adjacent relationship between a drive roller and a pressure sheet, the latter being under very substantial tension. Thin grinder wheels extend through slots in the pressure sheet and thereby grind completely through the rolling cylinders. The drive roller and pressure sheet continue to roll the substantially separated cylinders, in precise synchronism, so that there is no breaking but instead only grinding.
