    摘要： A cosmetic package has a sheet material pouch defining a product storage chamber, a neck member with a passage to the storage chamber, a cap on the neck member to close the passage and an applicator wand extending from the cap through the passage into the storage chamber. The pouch is securely attached to the neck member by way of pairs of horizontally extending wedges. The wedges form opposite outwardly directed, semi-elliptical bonding surfaces that intersect at an acute angle. The semi-elliptical bonding surfaces allow the sheet material of the pouch to transition smoothly about the neck member, such that the material can be reliably and imperviously secured to the neck member.

    摘要： A dispensing system is provided which assists in preventing oxidation of a product having an oxygen labile component. The system comprises a container having an internal chamber and a neck providing access to the internal chamber. A pump is attached to the neck of the container. The pump projects into the internal chamber. A gas producing structure is attached to a portion of the pump that projects into the container. By one or more mechanisms, the gas producing structure gradually releases a gas, such as carbon dioxide, nitrogen, or any other gas that is substantially unreactive with the labile component of the product. The released gas provides two advantages. First, the gas serves to keep internal pressure of the system at a constant level. Second, the gas released is one which will not degrade labile components of the product. The ability of this dispensing system to at least partially fill the headspace of the package with a gas that does not readily degrade the labile component of the product aids in slowing down the degradation of that product. Therefore, since oxygen is displaced by released gas in the headspace, the oxidation process is slowed.

    摘要： A wiper for use in a container for pasty products, such as mascara, lip gloss, eyeshadow, dental or oral care products, ointments, or the like, which wiper allows for the wiping of excess product from an applicator as the applicator is withdrawn from a container, but does not wipe the applicator as it is placed into the container. The wiper of the present invention comprises two or more flaps capable of occupying a first scraping position, when the applicator is withdrawn from the container, and a second non-scraping position, when the applicator is returned to the container.The non-scraping position of the flaps allows the applicator to be placed into the container without being wiped. This characteristic reduces the build-up of product within the neck of the container, thus providing a cleaner, aesthetically pleasing package for the consumer to use.
