摘要： A limiting circuit for controlling overshoot in a charge current in a battery recharging system includes a current amplifier receiving input indicative of charge current in a rechargeable battery circuit and generating a current error signal, a voltage amplifier receiving input indicative of charge voltage in the rechargeable battery circuit and generating a voltage error signal, and a power amplifier receiving a first signal indicative of power in a switching voltage regulator and a second power signal indicative of power in the rechargeable battery circuit, and generating a power error signal. The limiting circuit compares the voltage error signal, the current error signal, and the power error signal to determine the error signal having the greatest value, and generates an input signal to a pulse width modulation comparator. The limiting circuit also includes an internal current source, a first transistor coupled to the current amplifier, a second transistor coupled to the voltage amplifier; and a third transistor coupled to the power amplifier. The first transistor, the second transistor, and the third transistor are coupled to the internal current source to determine the error signal having the greatest value. To prevent reverse current flow in the switching voltage regulator, a low current comparator receives a signal indicative of the current flowing in the switching voltage regulator, and generates an output signal. A transistor receives the output signal from the low current comparator, and generates a signal to maintain the current flowing in the switching regulator circuit above a threshold value.

摘要： A computer monitor stand and method according to which a lower support member receives a docking device and a portable computer to enable the computer to be docked to the docking device. An upper support member includes a plate for receiving the monitor, and one or more feet extend between the plate and the docking device. The feet are detachably connected to the plate or the docking device to enable the feet to be changed to adjust the position of the plate and therefore the monitor. This enables a preferred monitor viewing angle to be maintained despite use with different-sized docking stations.

摘要： A portable computer in which a single switch is positioned to be closed when the case is closed, and also to be readily operable by the user's finger. Software polls the switch. If the switch is briefly depressed, the software detects that the user is requesting entry into standby mode, and accordingly powers down certain input/output functions until new stimulus is received. If the switch is held down for a long time by the user closing the case cover, or manually holding the button down for a long time, the software causes the system to enter sleep mode (its lowest power mode).

摘要： A corrugated end cap for packaging electrical products includes a die-cut sheet of corrugated material having perforations, scores, cutouts and fold lines. The corrugated die-cut is foldable to extend a plurality of ribs and a pair of rollover shoulders. A first one of the shoulders is on a first side of the ribs and a second one of the shoulders is on a second side of the ribs. The shoulders are foldable to interlock with the ribs for forming an end cap including a cavity for engaging a portion of an electrical product. The cavity includes only flat bearing surfaces for engagement with the product. In this manner no edge portions of the material engage the product.

The overload protection circuit, which compares two voltage signals in order to shut off the computer power supply when certain limits are exceeded, is implemented without any pots or other trim circuits.
