A method and apparatus for administering a pharmaceutical. The method employs a delivery device including a housing, a pharmaceutical containing needled syringe movable within the housing, an activation button disposed at one of the housing, and wherein the housing is flared radially outward at the other end and designed to allow visibility of the needled syringe. A skin-contacting surface of the housing at the flared end is designed to limit slippage along the skin, and at least one injection targeting guide is provided. When the device is sited for injection, and without pressing the delivery device housing toward the injection site with any predetermined force by the one hand holding the housing, the activation button may be plunged with the other hand toward the housing to trigger an advancing assembly within the device that first automatically advances the needled syringe to insert a needle into the injection site, and that second automatically advances the syringe piston to force pharmaceutical through the inserted needle.

A respirator mask seal and shell are provided according to one embodiment of the invention. The respirator mask seal and shell includes a mask shell having a face opening, a slot for air passage, and at least one attachment portion spaced around the face opening. They also include a movable interface having a hose connector and a contoured opening adapted to fit against the mask shell. The contoured opening is slidable over the slot and is capable of being positioned on the mask shell. The mask seal has a flexible sidewall having distal and proximal ends and includes a rounded outer seal portion located on the distal end of the sidewall, a rounded inner seal portion located between the distal and proximal ends, and a support ring embedded in the sidewall. The inner seal portion is thicker than the outer seal portion and is non-continuous. The support ring includes at least one attachment portion adapted to engage the at least one attachment portion of the mask shell. The mask seal is capable of being removably affixed to the mask shell. The movable interface is capable of being positionally adjusted on the mask shell and the mask seal is capable of being inwardly deformed by contact with a face region of the user.

The pharmaceutical delivery device includes a housing, a pharmaceutical containing needled syringe having an injection tip that is recessed within the housing when the syringe is in a first position and which projects from the housing when the syringe is in a second position, a syringe advancing assembly operable to automatically advance the needled syringe from the first position to the second position, a plunger including an input portion projecting from the housing for manual access by a user, wherein the plunger is operable by the user directly shifting the input portion when the syringe is disposed in the second position to inject pharmaceutical from the syringe through the needle at a rate adjustably controlled by a user during the injection, and wherein the plunger includes a plunger extender automatically movable within the housing from a first location to a second location upon the needled syringe advancing from the first position to the second position, wherein the plunger extender, when in the second location, occupies a space vacated by the needled syringe during advancement from the first position to the second position, whereby the plunger input portion remains stationary relative to the housing during the advancement of the needled syringe.

A dispensing lid assembly for use with a container assembly and a container assembly including the lid assembly. The lid assembly can be attached to a container liner of the container assembly. The lid assembly includes a spigot housing through which liquids are dispensed. The spigot housing is configured with a grip portion which facilitates tipping of the container assembly with the lid assembly attached thereto. A dispensing conduit is provided in the lid assembly which communicates with a cavity in the container liner. A spring loaded valve assembly is retained in the spigot housing to controllably dispense liquids from the container liner through the dispensing conduit. A check valve assembly is included in the lid assembly. The check valve assembly provides controlled introduction of air into the container to equalize the pressure in the cavity during dispensing. The container assembly also includes a bottom or foot which is partially rounded to facilitate tipping of the container assembly to place a nozzle of the lid assembly in a dispensing position and to return the assembly to an upright position to prevent dripping.
