摘要: The present invention provides a protection device including a bimetal component and a PTC component. This protection device includes a resin base, a first terminal, a second terminal, a PTC component, a bimetal component, an arm, an upper plate and a resin cover. A portion of the first terminal configures a first electrode, and a portion of a second terminal configures the second electrode, and the first electrode and the second electrode are exposed outward at the bottom surface of the resin base. In a normal state, the first terminal, the arm and the second terminal are electrically connected in series. When the bimetal component is activated, the first terminal and the arm become electrically cut off while the first terminal, the PTC component, the bimetal component, the arm and the second terminal are electrically connected in series in the mentioned order.

Such PTC device 30 comprises a PTC member 32 and leads 34 and 36 electrically connected to both sides of the PTC member the PTC member comprises a PTC element 38 and metal electrodes 40 and 42 placed on both sides of the PTC element respectively, each lead is electrically connected to the metal electrode respectively via an electrically conductive connection portion 50, and at least one 36 of the leads has a concave portion which is defined with a bottom portion 44 located adjacently to the metal electrode of the PTC member and a wall portion 46 surrounding the electrically conductive connection portion which connects the leads to the metal electrode.

摘要: A protection device including: (i) a protection component having a first thermal fuse and a resistive body, the resistive body being supplied with a current in an abnormal state to generate heat, the heat activating the first thermal fuse to cut off the current; (ii) a PTC component; and (iii) a second thermal fuse, the second thermal fuse being electrically connected in series to the PTC component, the first thermal fuse of the protection component being electrically connected in parallel to the PTC component and to the second thermal fuse, and the protection component being activated in the abnormal state so that the PTC component trips to generate heat, the heat blowing the second thermal fuse.

摘要: The present invention provides a protection device which includes a laminar element 16 which is formed of an insulation resin and has at least one throughhole; electrically conductive metal thin layers 22 and 28 which are positioned on each of main surfaces of the laminar element, and a fuse layer 40 which is positioned on a side surface defining said at least one throughhole and electrically connects the electrically conductive metal thin layers. The fuse layer includes a first metal layer 41 consisting of a metal having a higher melting point and a second metal layer 42 consisting of a metal having a lower melting point. The protection device of the present invention allows a larger amount of a current to flow therethrough and can provide a protection from an excessive current.
