摘要: A communications device having a user configurable speakerphone feature is provided. A user may be provided with a plurality of selectable settings for configuring the operation of a microphone or the processing of speech. For example, a user may select settings to filter ambient noise for a cleaner sound or increase a microphone's sensitivity in a conference call environment. In one embodiment, the user may select a setting that changes a microphone level or microphone operating range. When the microphone detects speech, the speech may be processed in accordance with user selected processing settings. For example, a user may select settings to specify a gain control, a frequency response, or an activity threshold. Thus, a user may configure a speakerphone to improve sound quality on the receiving end.

摘要: Various embodiments disclosed herein provide a Peer-to-Peer (P2P, Internet Protocol (IP) telephone system. The telephone system includes a plurality of terminals coupled together via an IP network. The terminals cooperate with one another to provide telephony features without a dedicated central controller such as a PBX and/or a KSU controller. The terminals may store system-wide configuration data and files referenced by the system-wide configuration data. The terminals may further determine whether the system-wide configuration data references a file that is not stored in the terminal, and requesting the file from another terminal of the telephone system in response to determining the terminal does not have a copy of the file.

摘要: A charger cradle used for charging a battery of a portable electrical device. An electromagnetic device is disposed within the charger cradle proximate a metal piece of the cordless handset when the cordless handset is placed in a receiving portion of the charger cradle. The electromagnetic device generates a magnetic field when charge contacts of the charger cradle and the cordless handset are in contact and a charging current is conducted from a charging circuit of the charger cradle. The magnetic field attracts the metal piece of the cordless handset and securely holds the cordless handset into the receiving portion while the charging circuit charges the battery of the cordless handset.

摘要: A system and method for avoiding mutual interference between two communications system is disclosed. One embodiment of the invention provides a system that includes a fixed unit and a portable unit. The fixed unit has a fixed transceiver. The portable unit has a portable transceiver. The fixed transceiver and the portable transceiver are members of a first RF system of the first RF system. The portable transceiver is configured to communicate with the fixed transceiver via a first RF link of the first RF system. The system further includes an additional transceiver. The additional transceiver is configured to communicate with a headset via a second RF link of a second RF system. The system further includes a processor that is coupled to one of the fixed transceiver, the portable transceiver, and the additional transceiver. The processor is configured to avoid interference between the first RF link and the second RF link. The interference can be avoided by coordination between the first RF system and the second RF system. Alternatively, the interference can be avoided using signal or timing information from the second RF system. For example, RSSI obtained by the first RF system can be used to estimate or derive timing information of the second RF system, which can then be used by the first RF system to avoid interference with the second RF system.

摘要: Systems and methods of enhanced real-time communications between WiFi devices. In one embodiment of the present invention a method for enhanced payload protection in a WiFi system includes transmitting multiple copies of data packets in successive frame body transmissions. In another embodiment, a method for enhanced communications over a WiFi link includes examining a unit ID packet to determine a destination of a data payload when errors are detected in IP and/or MAC headers. If a destination is determined, the packet is corrected and forwarded to the device based on the unit ID determination. In another embodiment, a method for enhanced real-time communications in a WiFi network includes establishing a communications frame that includes an active timeslot, preferably based on U-APSD, for a WiFi device to use for transmission of successive audio data packets transmitted between the WiFi handset and AP.

摘要: Systems and methods for maintaining synchronization of a base unit and a portable unit in a low-power mode are provided. The base unit and the portable unit communicate with each other via wireless frequency hopping radio communications links. The base unit and the portable unit switch to a synchronization state in a synchronization period during the low-power mode. During the synchronization period, the base unit transmits one of a first and a second link synchronization messages. The portable unit is required to respond to the second link synchronization. If the base unit receives a response from the portable unit within a predetermined number of periods, the base unit and the portable unit switch back to the low-power mode. Otherwise, the base unit and the portable unit are switched to a SEARCH state to search for a synchronized communications channel.

摘要: A time division duplex digital radio frame structure with time and frequency diversity and method for use thereof is presented. Each packet of data is transmitted twice in successive frequency hops, such that the redundant transmission differs in both time and frequency from the primary transmission. A communications system employing the frame structure may be configured to dynamically shift between fully diverse, asynchronous and non-diverse modes of operation. The mode of operation may be selected based upon one or more operating parameters, such as battery power or detected interference. When error correction is implemented and a primary transmission is received without error, system devices may de-power circuitry to reduce power consumption.
