The method includes providing a meter housing coupled to a tank and a first sensor in communication with a controller, coupling the first sensor to a location proximate to the meter housing, identifying, with the controller through the first sensor, when a buildup of commodity is positioned adjacent to the first sensor, and initiating a first response, with the controller, when the buildup of commodity is identified adjacent to the first sensor.

Abstract: A cavity-type seed-metering device with a magnetic seed protection assembly is provided, which includes a seed-metering device shell, a seeding plate and a seeding shaft. The seeding plate rotatably mounted in the seed-metering device shell through the seeding shaft. A seeding channel is formed in the seed-metering device shell. Multiple cavities are formed in the seeding plate. Seed filling orifices connected with the cavities are formed in one side of the seeding plate. Seeding outlets connected with the cavities are formed in a circumferential surface of the seeding plate. A magnetic hinge is rotatably connected with the seeding outlet. A notched magnetic ring is fixed in the seed-metering device shell. The magnetic hinge can close the seeding outlet under a magnetic force of the notched magnetic ring. A magnetic block that can attract the magnetic hinge for opening the seeding outlets is arranged in the seeding channel.

Abstract: Continued and precise operation of an agricultural implement exists even where a subsystem, such as a GPS receiver, wireless communicator, a sensor, or the like, fails, falters, or is otherwise unusable. Data is continually tracked to the extent possible during failure or faltering and is temporarily stored. The temporary data is later stitched or otherwise harmonized with historical data once the failing system is repaired or otherwise once again available. During failure or faltering, views, and even mapped views, of historical and real-time data are displayed. Predicted or anticipated data can be included within these views or can even be used when stitching.

Abstract: Systems and methods for identifying operational abnormalities based on data received from an agricultural implement performing a task in an agricultural field are described herein. In an embodiment, a system receives time-series data captured from an agricultural implement performing an agronomic activity on an agricultural field, the time-series data including, for each of a plurality of timestamps, a location of the agricultural implement. The system identifies a plurality of passes in the time-series data and using the identified plurality of passes, identifies a plurality of location on the agricultural field in which the activity performed by the agricultural implement included a particular operational abnormality. The system generates a map of operational abnormalities for the agricultural field, the map of operational abnormalities including the plurality of locations on the agricultural field in which the activity performed by the agricultural implement included the particular operational abnormality.

Abstract: A seeding apparatus has a frame and a plurality of furrow openers spaced laterally along the implement frame. A like plurality of singulating meters is provided, each mounted on the frame close to a corresponding furrow opener, and seed tubes are configured to receive singulated seeds from a corresponding singulating meter and deposit the seeds in the furrow created by the corresponding furrow opener. A pressurized air stream conveys seeds through each seed tube and a seed supply supplies seeds to each singulating meter. A meter control operates each singulating meter to provide a variable seeding rate that is independent of the seeding rates of the other singulating meters. A seed catching member follows each furrow opener and catches the seeds exiting the seed tubes to maintain a consistent seed spacing in the furrow.
