In addition, the mobile sensory platform also includes a power supply and a control system configured to control movement of the mobile sensory platform and operation of the sensors. The multiple sensors include one or more microclimate sensors configured to generate microclimate sensor data based on changes in a microclimate around individual ones of the multiple plants.
Abstract:
A canopy treatment system to treat plants is disclosed. In one implementation according to examples of the present disclosure, a canopy treatment system comprises a hot fluid generating system configured to heat a fluid, the hot fluid generating system including a canopy valve; and a canopy in fluid communication with the hot fluid generating system, the canopy defining a treatment region, the canopy valve of the hot fluid generating system selectively positionable to control fluid flow between the hot fluid generating system and the canopy.
Abstract:
The grounded modular heated cover is disclosed with a first pliable outer layer and a second pliable outer layer, wherein the outer layers provide durable protection, an electrical heating element between the first and the second outer layers, the electrical heating element configured to convert electrical energy to heat energy, a heat spreading layer, and a thermal insulation layer positioned above the active electrical heating element. Beneficially, such a device provides radiant heat, weather isolation, temperature insulation, and solar heat absorption efficiently and cost effectively. The modular heated cover quickly and efficiently removes ice, snow, and frost from surfaces, and penetrates soil and other material to thaw the material to a suitable depth. A plurality of modular heated covers can be connected on a single 120 Volt circuit protected by a 20 Amp breaker. The modular heated covers are grounded for safety using the conductive heat spreading layer.
Abstract:
The disclosure provides systems and methods of use pertaining to a portable rocket-type heating and cooking system. The heating and cooking system features three distinct cooking surfaces designed for simultaneous use and may be dismantled and transported for use in a variety of environments, including use as a heating and cooking device in the home as a fireplace insert, use outdoors in a hiking or camping setting, or use in a developing-world application as a third-world outdoor or indoor kitchen. The heating and cooking system features a combustion chamber and exhaust chimney having optimized dimensions to achieve maximum combustion efficiency, which translates to increased heating and cooking capacities as well as reduced smoke exhaustion. Other embodiments are also disclosed.
Abstract:
An apparatus for protecting plants, trees, bushes, etc. from harsh environments when the ambient air temperature is below the lower tolerance limit for that species of plant. The apparatus consists of an envelope that covers the plant with a drawstring on the open end of the envelope that cinches around the base of the plant. Installed in envelope is a blower and heater that heats and circulates air throughout the envelope, creates a micro-environment within the envelope that is above the lower tolerance limit for that species of plant, keeping the plant from being harmed by the outside environment.

Abstract:
The present invention is a pot-in-pot production system with components and a combination that facilitates the growing of nursery plants in containers while minimizing costs. The new system includes a socket pot container with at least one corrugation that is resistant to crushing and frost; a water-deflecting cover that controls the amount of water delivered to the plant to minimize leachate; and an efficient, inexpensive drip irrigation device that evenly distributes water to the plant for a consistent and healthy root system. The irrigation device can be attached to or be integrated into the water-deflecting cover.
Abstract:
This invention relates to a protective device for foliage used to shelter the foliage from frost and/or freezing conditions. More particularly, it relates to foliage protectors, which can, but are not limited to the use of low wattage heating units as an integral part of the protective device. The invention encapsulates the foliage in a flexible enclosure and is available in various sizes and thermal warming capacities. The foliage protector expressly utilizes waste heat from conventional rope light and/or kapton heater tape for providing the heat source.
Abstract:
A method for spraying a liquid on plants by means of a spraying assembly adapted for mounting on a pair of upper and lower wires parallel to each other. The spraying assembly comprises a sprayer having at least one nozzle adapted for fluid communication with a source of the liquid, and a sprayer holder. The sprayer holder comprises a rigid rod and upper and lower holder members mounted on the rod and having clamping means for being clamped to the respective upper and lower wires. One of the holder members has a sprayer seat for fixedly supporting the sprayer in a predetermined orientation relative to the rod.
Abstract:
