Abstract:
A cake decoration jig for coaxially aligning cake discs and a confection such that the confection can be decorated using the cake discs and a scraper includes a base wall with a support surface, a first side wall with a first alignment surface, and a second side wall with a second alignment surface. Each of the support surface, the first alignment surface, and the second alignment surface are planar. The support surface is oriented horizontally, and each of the first alignment surface and the second alignment surface are perpendicular to the support surface and to each other. The cake decoration jig is used in a new method for coaxially aligning cake discs with a confection.
Abstract:
A confectionery item for applying an edible temporary tattoo to a person's tongue, including a release medium and an edible substrate configured to be insertable into the person's mouth, the release medium being securable to the substrate and coated with a layer of edible hardener onto which a transfer is printed, wherein the transfer is a representation formed of edible ink printed onto the layer of edible hardener and configured to be transferred to the person's tongue during contact therewith.
Abstract:
Disclosed is a tool set for use in forming the components of a decorating nozzle from sheet metal. A tool-mounting plate mountable on the headstock of a metalworking lathe is configured with concentric grooves into which circular ribs on the tools can locate. Transverse formations prevent relative rotation between the tool and the tool-mounting plate. A method of forming nozzles comprises rolling a metal blank onto the surface of a forming tool as the tool is rotated in the lathe. Successive tools are used to achieve the desired shape.
Abstract:
An edible decoration is laser kiss cut from an edible decorating sheet by optically sensing at least one printed edible design on the edible decorating sheet relative to a laser cutting tool coordinate system and driving a laser along a circuit of cutting locations defined in the laser cutting tool coordinate system. The laser beam forms a separation channel by laser ablation of at least a portion of the edible decorating sheet at the cutting locations while leaving intact the non-adhesive releasable backing upon which the edible decorating sheet rests.
Abstract:
A method for printing a three-dimensional crystalline structure such as a chocolate layer wherein, after printing, the material has a desired crystal structure. An embodiment can include printing a liquid first layer of material with a printer onto a second layer of mate al having a crystal structure. Subsequently, the printed liquid first layer is processed to solidify. The first layer. During the processing of the printed liquid first layer, the second layer functions as a crystal seed layer through physical contact with the printed liquid first layer and the second layer crystallizes with the crystal structure.
Abstract:
The present application provides a system or kit for printing tempered chocolate. The system includes a first heated vessel for maintaining chocolate therein untempered, and a second heated vessel in fluid communication with the first heated vessel for maintaining chocolate therein within the range of about 84 degrees Fahrenheit and about 92 degrees Fahrenheit and tempered with about 0.5% to about 3% type V crystals. The system further includes a syringe pump configured to pump tempered chocolate and a nozzle. The system further includes a three-way valve for selectively coupling the syringe pump and the second vessel, or the nozzle and the syringe pump, in fluid communication to direct the tempered chocolate from the second vessel through the nozzle. The system further includes a control system for controlling the system such that the chocolate flowing from the nozzle includes greater than about 3% type V crystals.
Abstract:
A web-enabled standalone application may, in selected implementations, prevent received license-controlled image data from unauthorized re-use, editing, or distribution, and permits image processing, such as applying the International Color Consortium's color correction process, at the local control device. The web-enabled standalone application may further generate a printer specific byte stream based on post-image processed data, providing a color managed workflow independent of local control device operating system print drivers.

Abstract:
The present invention relates generally to printing processes. In particular the invention relates to processes for printing with edible inks. An aspect of the invention relates to printing an edible ink onto a material using an inkjet printing device. The material may be an edible material. The ink may comprise a colourant, at least 30% water, at least 25% carbohydrate sweeteners and be free from both diols and triols. A further aspect of the invention is a printed foodstuff obtainable by the process of printing edible ink onto a material.
Abstract:
The present invention is directed to a panned confectionery product comprising a chocolate piece having a color adherent coating on a surface of the chocolate piece, wherein the coating comprises a color adherent coating solution selected from the group consisting of a chocolate polish and a confectionery glaze and at least one edible colorant adhered to the coating solution.
