Abstract:
A garment (10) comprising a grip coating located on inner and outer surfaces of a garment section (12) so as to generate in use friction between a wearer's skin and the garment (10) and friction between the garment (10) and an external contact surface. The grip coating includes a first array of grip elements (14) located on the inner surface of the garment section (12) and a second array of grip elements (16) located on the outer surface of the garment section (12). The first and second arrays are arranged relative to each other so that the grip elements (14,16) of the first and second arrays are offset relative to each other and do not overlie or overlap each other.
Abstract:
A legwear garment device; the garment includes a legwear, a waistband, and a strip having a first side and a second side, wherein the second side is affixed to an inner side of the top portion of the waistband. The first side of the strip may include a non-adhesive substance, while the second side may include an adhesive substance. The garment may be configured to conform to a user's body while the first side of the strip allows the garment to remain in position on the user's body.
Abstract:
An athletic strap includes a glove portion including a plantar aspect, a dorsal aspect, and a cavity defined between the plantar and dorsal aspects. The cavity is configured to receive at least part of a hand or a foot of a user. The glove portion further includes a first opening at one end of the glove portion and a second opening at another end of the glove portion. The first and second openings provide ingress to or egress from the cavity. The glove portion further includes a strip extending between the plantar and dorsal aspects. The strip is adjacent to the second opening. The glove portion further includes a first indicium disposed on the plantar aspect. The first indicium extends along a first axis. The first axis is coincident with a portion of the strip.
Abstract:
Persons find heated gloves desirable for a variety of reasons, including arthritis and cold weather. Having gloves that can be heated in a microwave provides a convenient way to supply heat. By having gloves that are fingerless, use of touch-screen devices and precise work, such as sewing and knitting, is permitted. By having gloves that offer compression, persons with conditions such as arthritis or edema may find them desirable. Additionally, compression may make limbs colder and so the ability to supply heat may be advantageous. This invention offers a set of gloves with combinations of heat, fingerlessness, and compression.
Abstract:
A safety harness assembly for providing hand holds for a passenger on a motorcycle includes a garment that may be worn by a driver of a vehicle. A gripping apparatus is coupled to the garment to be gripped by a passenger of the vehicle.
Abstract:
A protective device for protecting the fingers of a user from cuts while hair threading is presented. The protective device has a guard configured to overlie at least a portion of a finger of a user. The thread for hair threading is wrapped around a portion of the guard so that the thread does not directly come into contact with the skin. The guard has an attachment member configured to maintain the thread in the desired position relative to the finger of the user.
Abstract:
A filtering face-piece respirator 10 that includes a harness 14 and a mask body 12 that has a multi-layer filtering structure 16. Present at the perimeter 24 on the interior surface of the mask body 12 is a region having an increased coefficient of friction 44, in relation to the filtering structure 16. This region 44 can be formed by a discontinuous coating of a polymeric material. The region 44 improves the fit of the respirator 10 on the wearer's face, providing a non-slip seal, yet allows moisture laden air to exit from the interior gas space of the mask body 12.
Abstract:
A glove including a wrist region, a palm region, and digit regions. A band zone is defined in a back surface of one or more digit regions and grippingly engages a back of the user's digit received in that region. The band zone includes C-shaped elastomeric bands disposed at right angles to a longitudinal axis of the digit region. Each band extends around less than one half of the circumference of the digit region. The band zone extends from proximate the palm region to an area disposed adjacent a nail of the user's digit. A smooth zone is provided in a surface of the digit region opposite the band zone. The smooth zone is free of elastomeric bands and contacts a front surface of the user's digit. This configuration aids in gripping the user's digit while preserving tactile sensitivity therein when the glove is used for long periods of time.

Abstract:
Disclosed herein is a garment wearable by an infant for assisting a caregiver in carrying the infant. The garment comprises a bodysuit for an infant where the bodysuit provides grip areas for assisting a caregiver in carrying an infant. The article has at least one grip area having a frictional material, such as an elastomer, applied to the grip area to create a frictional surface extending above the outside surface of the article. The frictional surface is in contact with a caregiver to resist the relative motion of the infant with respect to the grip area.
