Abstract:
A method of aligning a portion of textile fabric, whereby at least two movable gripping elements of a display device are brought alongside one another into contact with and fastened to a front edge of the portion of fabric and the gripping elements are moved substantially parallel to the surface of a display surface until the portion of fabric is laid out with one side flat on the display surface. In this case, the feed rate of the independently controllable gripping elements (2a, 2b) is so selected that the alignment of the portion of fabric (4) is variable by a feed difference (d, v) between the gripping elements (2a, 2b).
Abstract:
A machine has been disclosed which produces from a facing patch blank and a stiffener blank for it a facing patch used for a welt defining the outlines of a pocket. The machine performs the feeding of each individual patch, a patch inverting, the patch mating as well as sews the facing patch and its stiffener together, severs one sewn patch from the other, marks two successive, correctly related patches with the same number and stacks the patches with the same number into two different receptacles. The machine is automatically operated and sequentially interlocked; a circuit with an operating mode and an alarm mode is provided for the machine. As a result, numerous manual steps have been eliminated, better workpieces obtained, as well as sequentially more correct lots of the facing patches obtained.
Abstract:
An apparatus to manipulate hosiery includes a curved plunger, the curved plunger being curved about a pivot point and a curved hollow tube, the curved hollow tube being curved about the pivot point, and configured to internally receive the curved plunger.
Abstract:
An arrangement for examining a textile material section is provided, more particularly of toweling goods, by visual inspection by an examiner. In this respect, the examining arrangement has a laying area arranged in the field of vision of the examiner, in which the material section can be positioned so that it is laid flat for examination of the first side of the material section. In addition, the examining arrangement includes a turning device (2, 3), by which the material section (4), starting from the position for examining the first side (8) of the material section (4), can be reversed in such a manner that the material section (4) can be positioned so that it is laid flat in the laying area (6) for examination of the second side (10) of the material section (4).
Abstract:
The cloth piece transfer apparatus with side inverter of the invention is applied to the case of continuous feed of cut cloth pieces into a sewing machine or the like. Pickup 14 pinches holds and lifts the rear portion of the cloth piece N in the process of transfer of the cloth pieces N supplied and supported in horizontal position in uneven sides on a transfer device 4. A rodless cylinder 7 moves the pickup 14 in the transfer direction at a speed faster than the transfer speed of the transfer device 4. The cloth piece N moved by this rodless cylinder 7 is brought into contact with an inverting member 18 disposed beneath the middle position of the moving route of the pickup 14, and the sides of the cloth piece N are inverted. The inverted cloth piece N is dropped and supported on the transfer device 4. It enhances the transfer efficiency and is enable to transfer by inverting the sides without disturbing the interval of the cloth pieces supplied continuously.
Abstract:
A device for turning fabric panels to present a predetermined surface thereof upwardly is disclosed with a conveyor for transferring successive fabric panels to an operating station. Associated therewith is mechanism automatically responsive to the presence of a fabric panel with the wrong side up for operating the device for turning the fabric panels.

Abstract:
Apparatus for use in an automated garment making process detects whether a garment portion on a continuously moving conveyor is right side up by use of a photodetector. If the garment portion is not right side up, the photodetector signals a control unit which causes a flipper assembly to flip the garment portion over as it is discharged from the conveyor. The garment portion retains its original position relative to other garment portions on the conveyor and the conveyor does not stop.
Abstract:
A device for conveying, inverting, mating and sewing garment workpieces is disclosed which senses the presence of a first workpiece near a first position, raises and captures the leading end of the first workpiece thereby permitting conveyor rollers covered with an elastomeric material to sweep the following end of the first workpiece under the captured leading end, releases the captured leading end of the first workpiece after an appropriate delay period whereafter the first work-piece is conveyed to a second position, senses the presence of the first workpiece at the second position and the presence of a second workpiece at a third position, holds and aligns the second workpiece at the third position, moves the first workpiece from the second position over a ramp onto the second workpiece at the third position, releases the held workpieces and urges them toward a sewing area, and sews the two work-pieces together.
Abstract:
A device for turning over sequentially alternate garment components being transferred on a conveyor is disclosed which senses the presence of a garment component on the conveyor, raises and captures the leading edge of the garment component thereby permitting conveyor rollers covered with an elastomeric material to sweep the following edge of the garment component under its captured leading edge, and releases the captured leading edge of the garment component after an appropriate delay period.
