摘要: A method for making a rapid prototype of a patient's mouth to be used in the design and fabrication of a dental prosthesis. The method takes an impression of a mouth including a first installation site having a dental implant installed in the first installation site and a gingival healing abutment having at least one informational marker attached to the dental implant. A stone model is prepared based on the impression, including teeth models and model markers indicative of the at least one informational marker. The model is scanned. Scan data is generated from the scanning. The scan data is transferred to a CAD program. A three-dimensional model of the installation site is created in the CAD program. The at least one informational marker is determined to gather information for manufacturing the rapid protocol. Rapid prototype dimensional information is developed. The rapid prototype dimensional information is transferred to a rapid prototyping machine which fabricate a rapid prototype of the patient's dentition as well as a dental implant analog position.

Another embodiment comprises the computerized system (3000) having a capacity to facilitate configuring of a prepared tooth to generate a digital file. Another embodiment comprises the computerized system (3000) having the capacity to produce an auditory, lighted, or vibration signal, alerting the dentist to increase or decrease the line-of-draw surface tapers (118) as needed to fit a crown. Another embodiment comprises the computerized system (3000) having the capacity to produce signals, alerting the dentist to move on to other surfaces of the prepared tooth as soon as the reduced surface (116) has been adequately reduced to fit a crown. Some of the digital workflow embodiments facilitate configuring of the prepared tooth that fits a premanufactured crown while other embodiments create the digital file that facilitates fabrication of a custom crown.

摘要: A computer-implemented method and system are provided for registering a human jaw with a volumetric computed tomography image of that jaw positioned in an image reference coordinate system and stored in a computer-readable memory. The method involves attaching a jaw marker to the jaw to establish a pose trackable jaw reference coordinate system; moving a surface sampling tool over at least one portion of the surface of the jaw while operating a pose tracking system and a computer processor to record samples in the jaw reference coordinate system indicative of locations within the at least one portion of the surface of the jaw; operating a computer processor to determine an approximate initial registration mapping; then beginning with the approximate initial registration mapping, incrementally adjust the registration mapping. Incrementally adjusting the registration mapping involves computing an edge proximity value at each sample location mapped to the image by the registration mapping.

摘要: The invention relates to a method for modeling the mandibular kinematics of a patient, comprising: acquiring at least one stereoscopic image of the face of the patient by means of a stereoscopic camera, constructing, from said stereoscopic image, a three-dimensional surface model of the face of the patient, identifying characteristic elements of the face of the patient on said stereoscopic image or on said three-dimensional surface model of the face of the patient, from said characteristic elements, determining, on said stereoscopic image, respectively said three-dimensional surface model of the face of the patient, reference points, axes and planes of the face of the patient, obtaining a three-dimensional model of the maxillary dental arch and a three-dimensional model of the mandibular dental arch of the patient, registering the three-dimensional models of the dental arches with respect to the reference planes of the three-dimensional surface model of the patient, recording the mandibular kinematics of the patient, applying said recorded mandibular kinematics to the three-dimensional models of the registered dental arches, so as to animate said three-dimensional models.

The target parts of the intraoral cavity that it is desired to have scanned are identified, and the spatial s relationships between a scanning device and the target parts of the intraoral cavity suitable for enabling said target parts to be scanned by said scanning device, are also identified or otherwise determined. These relationships are then displayed, and the displayed relationships are used as a guide for scanning the intraoral cavity.

摘要: The present invention relates to a three-dimensional oral cavity scan device for a digital impression that obtains a three-dimensional image by processing a two-dimensional image acquired by photographing a three-dimensional subject in an oral cavity. The device includes: a pattern mask converting parallel light incident thereto into structured light; a piezoelectric plate where a mechanical vibration is generated on a surface thereof by an AC voltage applied thereto; and a power supply unit applying the AC voltage to the piezoelectric plate, wherein the piezoelectric plate moves the pattern mask in a longitudinal direction of the piezoelectric plate by using the mechanical vibration. The device can reduce noise and vibration by moving the pattern mask with an electrical method. In addition, the device can accurately measure depth of teeth by electrically controlling a focal length of structured light projected on the teeth.

摘要: A system for repositioning teeth comprises a plurality of individual appliances. The appliances are configured to be placed successively on the patient's teeth and to incrementally reposition the teeth from an initial tooth arrangement, through a plurality of intermediate tooth arrangements, and to a final tooth arrangement. The system of appliances is usually configured at the outset of treatment so that the patient may progress through treatment without the need to have the treating professional perform each successive step in the procedure.
