Abstract: The present disclosure relates to apparatus for covering a burn or other wound in ways that prevent or limit touching the wound. The present disclosure describes Burn Bandages that may include domes or structures that bridge over a wide range of a burn or wound size. In certain instances these structures may expand in one or more directions as they are adjusted to fit to a particular burn or wound size. Such bridging structures may include airways, openings, or voids that promote air/oxygen flow to the wound as the Burn Bandage sits upon surfaces or pads that contact healthy surrounding tissue while they cover a wound site. The apparatus may be any shape including, yet not limited to, a circle, a rectangle, a square, a hexagon, an octagon, an oval, a cone, a cylinder, have a semi-cylindrical shape, or that have any another geometric shape.

Abstract: A composite wound dressing apparatus promotes healing of a wound via the use of a micropump system housed within or above a wound dressing member. The micropump system includes a miniature pump that applies a subatmospheric pressure to the wound to effectively draw wound fluid or exudate away from the wound bed without the need for a cumbersome external vacuum source. Hence, the wound dressing and micropump system is portable which allows the patient mobility that is unavailable when an external vacuum source is used. The patient does not need to be constrained for any period of time while exudate is being removed from the wound.

Abstract: A translucent bandage includes a top film, an adhesive layer positioned below the top film, an absorbent layer below the adhesive layer and a bottom perforated layer positioned under the absorbent core for adhering the bandage to a user's skin. All of the layers are sufficiently translucent or transparent to allow a user to view a wound through the bandage. An additional layer of padding or cushioning may be included in the absorbent layer for added comfort. The translucent bandage may be applied to a user's skin and the skin under the bandage may be observed for signs of a wound or infection or signs that the bandage has become uncomfortable. If such signs are observed, the bandage may be removed to provide treatment to the skin and/or wound and a new bandage may be applied.

Abstract: Adhesive bandages/shield/cover with at least one raised non-adhesive portion which is elevated above the at least one adhesive layer with attached water temperature gauge indicator. The raised non-adhesive portion is peripherally surrounded by an adhesive layer with attached water temperature gauge indicator and is designed to protect surgical sites and cutaneous wounds as well as any other skin malady. Neither the raised non-adhesive portions of the bandage/shield/cover nor the adhesive layer with attached water temperature gauge indicator are in contact with the cutaneous layer which is the subject of the sought protection, with the adhesive layer with attached water gauge temperature indicator coming into contact only with the area surrounding the affected site which can result in the reduction or elimination of exposure to moisture and/or contaminates, and the correct water temperature can be indicated to eliminate any scalding of the skin. In addition, the surgical site or cutaneous wound is protected from force or impact. The raised non-adhesive portion may also be transparent to provide for monitoring of the surgical site or cutaneous wound while the surgical site or cutaneous wound remains protected.

Abstract: A combination protective carrier and mechanical coupling system for utilization in association with manufacturing of a bandage. The protective carrier includes a base with opposing sidewalls, cooperatively defining a channel. The protective carrier is elongated and structurally configured to be rolled onto itself. The mechanical coupling system has a base with a plurality of gripping structures. The gripping structures remain within the channel defined by the protective carrier. The mechanical coupling system is positioned within the protective carrier, and rolled onto itself.
