摘要: A device includes a first vibrational transducer and a second vibrational transducer. The first vibrational transducer has a first vibrating property. The second vibrotactile stimulator has a second vibrating property different than the first vibrating property. A collar may be configured to position the first vibrational transducer and the second vibrational transducer over a neck of a subject. A method for stimulating swallowing in a subject includes applying a first vibrotactile stimulation and applying a second vibrotactile stimulation to a throat area of the subject. The first vibrotactile stimulation has a first vibrating property and the second vibrotactile stimulation has a second vibrating property different than the first vibrating property. Example vibrating properties include vibrating frequency, vibrating frequency range, wave shape, continuousness, frequency phase, and direction of mechanical force.

摘要: Systems, and methods relate to a medical device receiving a treatment parameter operating point within a first operating region defined by a first set of operating points for which automatic incremental adjustment of a parameter in the current operation is permitted. In an illustrative example, incremental adjustment may use artificial intelligence based on patient feedback and sensor measurement of outcomes. Some exemplary devices may receive a request to alter the current treatment parameter operating point to a second treatment parameter operating point outside the first operating region and in a second operating region in a known safe operation zone, bounded by a known unsafe zone unavailable to the user. In the second operating region, some examples may restrict the step size of incremental adjustments requested by the user. Data may be collected for cloud-based analysis, for example, to facilitate discovery of more effective treatment protocols.

摘要: The system and method provide for electrocardiogram analysis and optimization of patient-customized cardiopulmonary resuscitation and therapy delivery. An external medical device includes a housing and a processor within the housing. The processor can be configured to receive an input signal for a patient receiving chest compressions and to select at least one filter mechanism and to apply the filter mechanism to the signal to at least substantially remove chest compression artifacts from the signal. A real time dynamic analysis of a cardiac rhythm is applied to adjust and integrate CPR prompting of a medical device. Real-time cardiac rhythm quality is facilitated using a rhythm assessment meter.

摘要: An apparatus induces and autonomously maintains a state of hypometabolism for long time periods in people who would otherwise suffer from a significant deterioration of their vital functions and a shorter life expectancy, or people who will have to stay in a space environment for a long time. The apparatus, made up of a double enclosure, includes a chamber for housing one person, which is equipped with means for controlling the person's vital functions and the environmental conditions, with the possibility of autonomously modifying the environmental parameters and dosing the administration of substances according to data obtained from measured physiological variables. Outside the chamber there is an interspace containing a liquid for shielding any radiation. A non-invasive monitoring of the main vital functions includes oxygen consumption, carbon dioxide production, heart rate, hemoglobin saturation, temperature of various body districts, muscular tone, electroencephalographic activity, respiratory rate and exchanged respiratory volumes.

摘要: A method for performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) includes elevating the heart of an individual to a first height relative to a lower body of the individual. The lower body may be in a substantially horizontal plane. The method may also include elevating the head of the individual to a second height relative to the lower body of the individual. The second height may be greater than the first height. The method may further include performing one or more of a type of CPR or a type of intrathoracic pressure regulation while elevating the heart and the head. The first height and the second height may be determined based on one or both of the type of CPR or the type of intrathoracic pressure regulation.

摘要: An apparatus may be configured for providing feedback to caregivers during a code blue scenario when adhered to the chest of a subject undergoing resuscitation by sensing and transmitting information associated with the code blue scenario. Such information may include one or more of vital signs of the subject during resuscitation, information associated with chest movements of the subject during resuscitation, and audio information from an environment of the subject during resuscitation. One or more processors may generate real-time feedback for communication to the caregivers during the code blue scenario based on the sensed and transmitted information.

摘要: A method for treating, preventing, or ameliorating cardiovascular disease in a subject involves exposing the subject for an effective duration to a condition of hypobaric normoxia or hypobaric hyperoxia. An apparatus or system useful for treating, preventing, or ameliorating cardiovascular disease includes an airtight chamber configured to accommodate and enclose a subject, and including at least one hatch to allow entry or exit of the subject; a vacuum source for adjusting pressure within the chamber to a level sufficient to maintain hypobaria; and a gas source for introducing one or more gases into the chamber, such as oxygen in an amount sufficient to produce a condition of normoxia or hyperoxia within the chamber, while maintaining hypobaria.

摘要: An elevation device used in the performance of cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) includes a base and an upper support pivotably coupled to the base. The upper support is configured to elevate the individual's upper back, shoulders and head when pivoted. The upper support is expandable lengthwise. The upper support includes a neck support that is configured to support the individual's spine in a region of the individual's C7 and C8 vertebrae throughout elevation of the upper back, shoulders and head.
