Abstract:
A deep tissue massage device that includes a compliant cylinder formed of compressible material, the cylinder having an external surface with at least one external ridge pattern formed on the exterior surface of the cylinder. The at least one ridge pattern includes a single ridge circumferentially formed on the exterior surface of the cylinder that has a V-shaped branch portion that extends from one end of the single ridge and joins together at a second end of the single ridge to form two opposing Y-shaped ridges.

The present disclosure is directed to a deep tissue massage device that includes a compliant cylinder formed of compressible material, the cylinder having an external surface with at least one external ridge pattern formed on the exterior surface of the cylinder. The at least one ridge pattern includes a single ridge circumferentially formed on the exterior surface of the cylinder that has a V-shaped branch portion that extends from one end of the single ridge and joins together at a second end of the single ridge to form two opposing Y-shaped ridges.
Abstract:
A single-tube crutch (100) includes an upper leg (101) and a lower leg (301). The lower leg (301) can be fully insertable into a first end of the upper leg such that only a slip-resistant tip (102) is exposed. The single-tube crutch can include an underarm support (104) coupled to a second end of the upper leg opposite the first end. A grip assembly (105) translates along the upper leg between a usage position and a stowed position.
Abstract:
A sound treatment system includes an audio system for transmitting tones of predetermined frequencies through a plurality of outputs. A sound transmitting device is electrically connectable to one or more of the outputs, and includes a speaker for transmitting the tones received. The speaker is adjacent to crystal which is vibrationally responsive to the tones. A method of using the system includes generating tonal segments of predetermined duration, modulating the frequencies, and compiling these into an audio program. One or more sound transmitting devices are placed on desired locations of the body, and their inputs connected to corresponding outputs of the audio system. The generating step includes compiling selected predetermined frequencies into an audio program to generate the tonal segments, as well as modulating tones of one or more desired frequencies to generate the tonal segments.
Abstract:
The subject matter described herein includes an apparatus and a clutch for using controlled storage and release of mechanical energy to aid in locomotion. One exemplary apparatus includes a frame including an upper portion configured to mechanically couple to a leg of the subject on a calf side of an ankle joint of the subject and a lower portion pivotally attached to the upper portion configured to mechanically couple to a foot of the subject on a foot side of the ankle joint of the subject. The apparatus include a rotary clutch and an elastic element coupled between the upper and lower portions of the frame to control periods of energy storage and release by the elastic element.

Abstract:
Methods, devices and systems for recovering motor control of an area in the body of a patient affected by a neurological disorder. A device vibrotactilely stimulates a substitute site for the affected area thereby recovering the motor control of the affected area. The stimulation provided by the device is volitionally controlled by the patient.
Abstract:
The disclosure provides methods, devices and systems for recovering motor control of an area in the body of a patient affected by a neurological disorder. In some embodiments, a device stimulates a substitute site for the affected area thereby recovering the motor control of the affected area, wherein the device is volitionally controlled by said patient.
