摘要: IV filters are described herein. An IV filter includes a filter housing, a filter media, a filter channel, a priming channel, and a disk valve. The filter housing defines an inlet and an outlet. The filter media is disposed within the filter housing. The filter channel is disposed within the filter housing. The filter channel is in fluid communication with the inlet and the filter media, and the filter media permits flow from the filter channel to the outlet and captures particulate from the flow. The priming channel is disposed within the filter housing. The priming channel is in fluid communication with the inlet and the outlet. The disk valve is coupled to the filter housing. The disk valve is moveable to direct flow from the inlet to the priming channel in a first position and to direct flow from the inlet to the filter channel in a second position.

摘要: A check valve assembly having a reduced net impact upon hemolysis, where the valve assembly has an elongated valve body including an inlet port, an outlet port, and an internal channel communicating between the ports, with each port disposed about and generally aligned with a central longitudinal axis of the body. The inlet port includes an umbrella-type check valve, and the internal channel is defined by three annular wall portions: a first annular wall portion aligned generally perpendicularly to the longitudinal axis to form a valve seat, a second annular wall potion that is generally concave, and a third annular wall portion that is generally convex, with the first, second and third annular wall portions forming an adjoining and essentially continuously curved, contiguous interior surface which smoothly redirects fluid flow toward the central longitudinal axis of the body and the outlet port.

摘要: A pressure activated two-way slit valve assembly is designed to be used in combination with, but not limited to, a high flow rate catheter to prevent accidental ingestion of air or loss of blood if the closure cap comes off during non-use of the catheter. In addition, the potential for occlusion of the catheter due to blood clots in the catheter and catheter related infection is substantially reduced. The pressure activated two-way slit valve assembly includes a first end, a second end, a wall defining a dumbbell shaped channel, and a flexible, thin disk having a slit and positioned within the pressure activated two-way slit valve assembly to reside within the dumbbell shaped channel. The slit and the dumbbell shaped channel are sized to enable the slit to deform in response to a predetermined pressure differential across the slit to allow fluid to pass therethrough.

摘要: A check valve assembly is configured to couple to a first container that retains a first fluid and a second container that retains a second fluid. The check valve includes a fluid inlet housing including a first fluid inlet port defining a first fluid inlet channel, and a second fluid inlet port defining a second fluid inlet channel. A fluid outlet housing is coupled to the fluid inlet housing. The fluid outlet housing includes a fluid outlet port defining a fluid outlet channel. A first diaphragm is seated over the first fluid inlet channel. At least a portion of the first diaphragm is configured to unseat over the first fluid inlet channel to allow the first fluid to pass from the first fluid inlet channel into the fluid outlet channel. A second diaphragm is seated over the second fluid inlet channel. At least a portion of the second diaphragm is configured to unseat over the first fluid inlet channel to allow the second fluid to pass from the second fluid inlet channel into the fluid outlet channel.

摘要: A check valve including an elastomeric valve element having a dome-shaped configuration that seals in its at-rest position occluding fluid flow in both directions. The dome-shaped elastomeric valve element is constructed in such a way to be deflectable, such as being activated by the external device such as a male luer whereupon the valve is cracked open to become a two-way valve allowing flow in both directions. The valve element may also be cracked open by sufficient fluid pressure in its inlet. The valve element is self-aligning. The dome-shaped of the valve element includes cut-outs for additional fluid flow, thereby streamlining flow while reducing the potential for air entrapment. The underside of the dome-shaped valve element also includes a thickened concave undersurface and thickened support legs to significantly increase the resistance to high backpressures, while also minimizing potential air entrapment.

摘要: A valve is disclosed, the valve comprising a housing having an first opening and a second opening, and an elastomeric member positioned in the housing, the elastomeric member comprising a thickness, a continuous peripheral wall projecting from the thickness, and a slit extending through the thickness, a continuous portion of the peripheral wall creating a continuous sealable contact with the housing and partitioning the housing into an upper section and a lower section, the elastomeric member configured such that upon creating a pressure differential between the upper section and the lower section of the housing causes either: (i) the peripheral wall to deflect from the housing permitting fluid flow around the elastomeric member; or (ii) the slit to open permitting fluid flow through the elastomeric member. Methods using the valve are also disclosed.
