摘要: A valve unit for a system for producing a medical preparation for parenteral nutrition is described. The valve unit includes a housing having a duct extending along a longitudinal access of housing, upper inlets and lower inlets, and an outlet in fluid communication with each of the inlets via the duct. The valve unit includes valves that alternately connect a respective upper inlet of the upper inlets and a respective lower inlet of the lower inlets to the duct. Each of the valves have a first passage that fluidly connects the respective upper inlet and the duct, and a second passage that fluidly connects the respective lower inlet and the duct.

摘要: A method includes: depositing whole blood into at least one separator tube; subjecting the at least one separator tube to a first centrifugal force to cause a combination of the first centrifugal force and separator gel within each separator tube of the at least one separator tube to separate plasma of the whole blood from red and white blood cells of the whole blood within the at least one separator tube, wherein the plasma includes α2M molecules; transferring one or more portions of the plasma from within the at least one separator tube and into at least one isolator; and subjecting the at least one isolator to a second centrifugal force to cause a combination of the second centrifugal force and a filter within each isolator of the at least one isolator to isolate the α2M molecules from other components of the plasma within the at least one isolator.

The fluid transfer system can have multiple fluid transfer stations for transferring fluids into multiple target containers or for combining different types of fluids into a single target container to form a mixture. The fluid transfer system can include a pump and a destination sensor, such as a weight sensor. The fluid transfer system can be configured to flush remaining fluid out of a connector to reduce waste, using air or a flushing fluid.

摘要: Some embodiments disclosed herein related to a device for transferring precise amounts of fluid from at least one source container to a at least one target container. In some embodiments, the fluid is first transferred from the source container (e.g., a vial) through a connector to an intermediate measuring container (e.g., a syringe). In some embodiments air can pass through an air inlet and enter the vial to compensate for the volume of fluid withdrawn from the vial. An air check valve or a bag or a filter can prevent the fluid from escaping through the air inlet. The precisely measured amount of fluid can then be transferred from the intermediate measuring container to the target container (e.g., an IV bag). In some embodiments the connector can include a source check valve and a target check valve to direct fluid first from the source container to the intermediate measuring container and then from the intermediate measuring container to the target container. Some embodiments of the device can include a motor and a controller for automatically actuating a plunger of the syringe to transfer the desired amount of fluid.

摘要: Some embodiments disclosed herein provide flow path inserts that can redirect flow paths in syringes with axially aligned tips to an outer edge of the syringe. When connected in line with other components, air can become trapped in the system. The syringes can be positioned generally horizontally and air bubbles can be disposed within the body of the syringe. The air bubbles rise to the top or uppermost portion of the syringe. The flow path inserts can facilitate the transfer of the air bubbles disposed within the syringe out the flow path defined by the flow path insert. Some embodiments disclosed herein provide a spinning luer connector for connecting components of a fluidics system.
