    摘要: A system and method are provided for improving powder material dispensing from containers, including toner dispensing from rotating toner cartridge components. The disclosed systems and methods separately agitate a rotating toner bottle, including an apparently, or indicated, expended toner bottle, in an image forming device to dislodge residual toner in the toner bottle without the need to remove the toner bottle from the image forming device to perform manual agitation by modifying a physical configuration of the rotating toner bottle in a manner that improves the performance of the rotating toner bottle by improving the flow of the toner material within the toner bottle. The disclosed physical configurations of the rotating toner bottle impart agitating pulses or disturbances onto rotating toner bottles to disturb any layers of residual toner material formed within the rotating toner bottle that may inhibit flow of the toner material in the rotating toner bottle.

    摘要: An apparatus for agitating materials contained in tubes, including cellular materials and tissues, to release their contents for scientific analysis. The apparatus includes a control enclosure containing a base and a motor, and an interchangeable module that connects to the motor. The interchangeable module includes a tube supporting structure and a rotatable hub connected to one or more strikers positioned to impact the tubes, resulting in agitation of tube contents. Interchangeable modules allow for different shapes and sizes of tubes to be used with a single control enclosure. The apparatus includes a means to measure the rotational velocity of the rotatable hub and a method for using the speed to determine the number of tubes in the apparatus, or the mass or volume of samples contained in tubes. The method accordingly adjusts the rotational velocity of the strikers allowing the tubes to receive consistent agitation independent of the number of tubes in the apparatus or mass or volume of samples within said tubes. The apparatus further includes protective sleeves for the tubes to prevent breakage, heat build-up from friction and tube caps opening due to rapid impact from strikers.

    摘要: A mixer is intended for mixing substances, resuspending pellets and disintegrating living cells, such as yeast cells. The mixer includes a tube holder and an electric motor with striking attachment(s). The main part of the holder is rigid rings coaxial with and located subsequently along the motor shaft. Each ring has a number of holes the tubes sit in. Diameters of the holes are larger then diameters of the tubes, so that there are gaps between the tubes and the rigid rings. The attachment(s) of the motor is disks with blades, affixed to the motor shaft. When the motor shaft rotates the blades strike against the tubes. Struck tubes are repelled by the rigid ring (due to a gap between the tubes and rings), get a new strike from the blades and so on. As a result, the substance inside the tube receives a turbulent motion which provides mixing, resuspending and disintegrating effects.

    摘要: A device consisting of a low-RPM motor wherein the motor spins a flat disk, a peg is attached to the disk, a stationary spring armature wherein the peg can activate the stationary spring armature as the disk rotates, and a tube containing beads in a fluid positioned in a top plate wherein the spring armature can contact the tube. This device can further include a soft closed-cell foam top mounted on the top plate wherein the tube is inserted and maintained by the foam in such a way as to allow for slight motion of the tube induced by the contact by the spring armature. This device can also include a secondary component wherein the secondary component separates magnetic beads from a fluid and wherein the secondary component consists of a holder into which the tube is inserted and wherein the holder contains a magnet such that when the tube is inserted the bottom of the tube is in close proximity to the magnet. Multiple tubes can be utilized and said beads can be evenly dispersed in less than one minute. The magnet can cause the magnetic beads to settle at the bottom of the tube and form a bead pellet in less than one minute. The spinning can be at a speed that results in an about 0.2-10 Hz tapping.
